My hopeful picks:

Steven Spielberg - Lincoln
Tommy Lee Jones - Lincoln
Ann Hathaway - Les Mis
Don’t care about Foreign Film.

I haven’t seen any of these and doubt I ever will except perhaps for Zero Dark Thirty when it becomes a rental. Yawn.

Jennifer Lawrence should get an award just for looking good.

lol. She looked good last night picking up her People’s Choice Award. Funny 407 million people voted which was more than what the Presidential Election gets....I voted in the People’s Choice AND the Presidential. I guess only 25 percent did the same. Kinda sad.

Haven’t seen any of the films up for Best Picture. About the only films I’ll probably view when they come out on DVD are Zero Dark Thirty, and Life of Pi, and it might take years for them to be reached on my Netflix Queue.

Afflek and Bigelow were snubbed in the best director category... Which doesn’t bode well for Argo or ZDT in the best picture category.
Lincoln will probably take it.

Yea.. Affleck not getting a Director nomination REALLY surprises me... That was a very well directed film.

ZDT is not a favorite of liberal hollywood. No cheers were given when the movie was nominated for anything.

IMHO I’ve never understood the ceremony of a bunch of rich entertainers getting together to reward one another for what a great job they did in their jobs. Shouldn't they be rewarding the public for spending their hard earned $$ at the movie theater to make these people the millionaires that they are?
Just sayin’.

It is an industry award. The whole point is that it’s what this particular industry thinks was the best of their own work for a given year. As for a bunch of rich entertainers, only four of the Oscars go to actors. The rest go to craftspeople and not all of them are rich.
