She can call the cops, and say I hit her, even if I didn't, and I get kicked out of my house that I own free and clear in my own name.
Then she lawyers up. No money required. Her lawyer will take mine.
I lose all my rights to own weapons (domestic violence that didn't happen, only an allegation is required), I probably lose the house, lose my firearms, and wind up on the streets.
That's the way the system works these days.
I think I'll just spend Friday night alone at home Freeping. Seems much safer that way.

“Here’s how it works in today’s world. Say I was to lose my mind and get married again (I’m redundant there), and the young chippie decided she wanted it all...”
Your post makes me think of the movie “Not without my Daughter”, when Sally Field first tells her Iranian husband (in Iran) that she’s leaving. He says: “Fine, but I keep the girl”. Of course she eventually manages to leave the country, taking the girl with her. Needless to say, Sally had zero rights in Iran, which would be true even if she were Iranian.
The threads make it more than OBVIOUS that we’ve gone way too far in the wrong direction from that extreme...the liberals pulled it off on us, when we were asleep - NO FAULT DIVORCE - and it is amazing that we haven’t been able to fix that problem, as it screws up more women than even men now.
The only other defense I would have had was my two kids who were both in college at the time. Neither of them would have bought the story that I had abused her, and I think she knew that.
