I remember back in the 80s, a whole lot of women were informed by their therapists that their fathers had sexually abused them. The women did not know this -- they had, you see, suppressed the memories. But their therapists assured them that this was true, and so a lot of women confronted their abusive dads. Much damage was done to family relationships.
Was Bruce's father abusive in some way? Well, I bet Bruce's therapist says so. This may be something that Bruce "learned about" quite recently.
