The man made good music, but - then again - so are a lot of folks. There’s not much else he can do that is productive.
He should be chronically depressed, since he supports a cause which has never proven successful and which is populated by zombie-like drones largely incapable of doing much more than using their EBT cards.

Basically his efforts since then have generally been a mess of indecipherable mumblings.
Springsteen becomes the poster boy for those screened that should not be able to own a gun.
IMHO, any 'artist' who uses their craft to support a political candidate should have a value affixed to that support and should be subject to FEC contribution limits.

I think Tunnel of Love was the last quality record he made and that was a quarter century ago.
“We Take Care of Our Own” is a whining, repetitive 0bama / Democrat Party infomercial. I heard the first chorus and nearly broke the channel change button getting away from it. I’ve literally never heard it through, as I didn’t want that “ear worm” going through my head over and over again.
I’m really confused by this “revelation”.
I started being a fan in the early 70’s and have read *tons* of interviews and just about every bio there was back then.
*Never* was his father described as “abusive”.
He was a bus driver, not the sullen, angry “factory worker” of songs.
His mom was a wonderful, loving mother who coddled him.
The only ‘strife’ between father and son that was ever mentioned was his father’s pleas for Bruce to get a job.
The boy partied all night and slept on his porch roof, at friends’ houses or under the boardwalk.
He’s never had a “normal job”, not even pumping gas and that annoyed his hard working middle class dad as it would any dad but I never, ever heard of “abuse”.
If Bruce didn’t mind admitting he ‘pretended to be a queer’ for his draft board meeting, I’m sure he would have mentioned a brutal father with equal openness.
Bruce is buying into his own cult of victomology and rewriting the ‘song of his life’, IMO.
Too whiny and full of the soap opera of his affair with Patti and the strain in his marriage to Julie because she wanted to be somebody in her own right.

Was Bruce's father abusive in some way? Well, I bet Bruce's therapist says so. This may be something that Bruce "learned about" quite recently.

He now has the luxury of building his Christian oriented Solid Rock Foundation for Phoenix kids to get off the streets and into performing arts.
We’s one sharp, tough cookie with a quick wit and honed intellect and and I would never dare enter into a battle of wits with him.
Perhaps he generalized so as not to offend the real morons of rock and roll.

He went berserker on the musicians who supported them and called them “traitors”.
The “long explanation” was his answer to the flak he got for doing so.

Some of the worst hype, too. Remember “I’ve seen the future of rock and roll and its name is Bruce Springsteen”, written by Jon Landau of Rolling Stone Magazine (also, uncoincidentally, Springsteen’s manager)?
Target this guy as a self-admitted potential mass murderer, take away his guns and armed bodyguards, and toss him into a rubber room. New gun laws.
I’m still kicking myself for missing that.
The DirecTV DVR is now set to record *anything* with “Alice Cooper” as a keyword or title.
Which means that sometimes there’s a guy named Cooper and a woman named Alice in some weird old B/W film noir recording.

I never liked Bruce Springsteen’s music or singing. He sounds like he is taking his last breath every time he opens his mouth. He is a “croaker”.
I never paid attention to his politics until Obama. Quite frankly, I could care less what he thinks. Just don’t make me listen to him is my only criteria.
I think a lot of these so called singers and performers know they have no talent or lasting power and they hook themselves to causes to stay relevant. I would definitely put Springsteen into that category.
