I could support Rand Paul, in 2016.

Well, you and the GOP can keep on losing elections then, we will see if you stop the leftist takeover then. THAT type of thinking is the problem, not my ethos of “live and let live” or “leave me alone”.

If we win elections, the liberals cannot take over and use the Fedgov to force these things onto us. But, what you seem to propose is to double down on a losing strategy. And then you have the nerve to say I am the problem. WOW... and you say you aren’t a liberal.

What I propose is to get Dem liberals, and holier than thou Republicans out of my life. Sorry if that offends you. What I propose does not take a perfect world to work, all it takes is adhering to Constitutional principles.

The Constitution does not guarantee the right to an abortion, nor does it give the Fedgov the right to regulate abortion. The same goes for marriage. If it is not mentioned in the Constitution, then its powers are delegated to the states. It is that simple, no parsing of words or twisted logic will change those Constitutional principles. So when I hear a so called conservative wants the feds to regulate these behaviors, I immediately become suspicious. If they were real conservatives, they would know that the feds have no business legislating such issues, or any other issue of morality. So, where do you stand, with the constitution or with your losing strategy?

President Romney, Former President Dole and House MAJority leader McConnell all support your WINNING! Strategy.

It works soooooo well I can’t imagine why we don’t just go with it...

But you and your fellow ‘conservatives’ just keep riding that solid strategy of voting for liberals, backing them, and trying to get any thinking person to believe it’s a conservative position. Because obviously anyone backing liberals and their ‘compromise’ MUS be conservative.

"... the method by which we got here ..."

We got "here" by seeing the Federal government take control over local decision-making in every issue, ostensibly "for our own good," i.e., morality. Look at minimum wage laws, a key generator of illegal immigration and lack of work ethic in American kids -- do you realize, that an American teen-ager doesn't have the right to take a job at the corner garage as an apprentice for whatever wage he'll accept? Look at the education system -- Federally trashed. Look at the scope and deadening impact of Federal law on abortion.

Using the Federal government to dictate these things is how we got here.

The Federal government's job should be mere oversight -- otherwise you're looking at continuing the method by which we got here. There's a big risk in the kind of freedom the Founder's counted on, I think, and it couldn't have been easy, but it worked then, and it can work again because it worked on human nature. That big risk is that the Founders' trusted people to morally behave in their own best intersts, and for the most part, they did.

Until welfare. Until Social Security. Until labor laws. Until Rove v. Wade. Until National Education. Until a behemouth tax infrastructure.

If Christian social conservatives want to give it their best shot, they're going to have to risk trust that Americans will be, on balance, moral. A nation where the Fed is even needed to have the last word on social issues ... is ... well, "here." No use continuing the process.

Um, who said I voted for Romney. And I am far from a liberal, but of course you should know that. Keep on losing those elections. You can’t refute anything I say so you resort to name calling and straw man arguments. That is why I am reminded of liberalism in your posts.

“God is on our side.”

Nope. Not any longer.

Take a look around.

Our judgement is just beginning and it’ going to get a lot worse.

8 years of Obama followed by
8 years of Hillary.

Reading your tagline, reading your sentiments, I have to ask -- what are you doing here on FR? You have ZILCH to offer to America except defeatism, destroying hope, pouring water on any small flames or fires of determination and resistance to tyranny. You are in your way WORSE than the liberals. You have been suckered, fooled, and manipulated, and you are being sucked even more in to that sink and attempting to drag more people with you, swirling down that drain of defeatism in your despair and self-pity.

Ultimately, you are the same as Obama: bent on the destruction of liberty. You are a self-pitying crybaby and a destructive force that serves to assist the leftist enemy and HARM the forces of freedom and morality.

You think you're being a "realist," but in fact, you are being a pessimist, willfully -- yes, WILLFULLY -- blind to the good that our side has going for us, and exaggerating the bad that our side has against us. The Pollyanna sees the world through rose-colored glasses, only the good; the defeatist and pessimist sees only the bad and assists the bad to dominate. You are part of the problem.

rbmillerjr, you deserve a good swift kick in the ass. WHAT DO YOU PROPOSE TO ACCOMPLISH with your tagline, and with your defeatism? How is it in any way productive or good? Newsflash: It is desructive and evil. You are party to and participant in destruction and evil.

You disgust me. Go crawl into a hole and nurse your misery, and leave the real work to people with heart and courage. Otherwise, all you are doing is helping the enemy.
