Who shot JR this time? Hagman’s ‘Dallas’ character *Spoiler*

This time, the question will be “Who killed J.R.?”

Conniving Texas oil baron J.R. Ewing, played by the late Larry Hagman, will be murdered in an upcoming episode of TNT’s “Dallas” — harkening back to the show’s “Who Shot J.R.?” 1980s heyday.

Hagman completed five episodes of the upcoming season before his death on Nov. 23 forced “Dallas” writers to re-tool the series to reflect his passing.

“We all felt having J.R. die of natural causes would have been completely inappropriate, not only to the character, but also to Larry Hagman,” series executive producer Cynthia Cidre tells TV Guide Magazine, which has details of the upcoming second season (premiering Monday, Jan. 28) in its new issue.

I used to live in Malibu and Larry Hagman was the most beloved citizen therein. He had ZERO ego and was a hilarious person to be with.

He loved life and life loved him back.

Trust me: the meanest, nastiest, most shocking death for J.R. will tickle him in the afterlife!

I only hope that it’s an anti-fossil fuels enviro-whack job.

I really, really liked the first person who shot JR (Kristen)! She was hot!

I recall in late 80s or early 90s El Rushbo mentioned he was a fan of “Dallas” and he owned all episodes.

I recall the first time she left the swimming pool and the cliff-hanger when Cliff found her in the pool. I still think JR killed her.

That’s brilliant! Hagman (and J.R.) most certainly would have heartily approved!

I just don’t know how the series will survive without Hagman. His portrayal of the dastardly JR really made the show.
