With the craze for guns and ammo, are there any decent sources for bulk .223/5.56 ammo?
I'm good on .30-06 and 7.62. But I need to load up on stuff for the AR.
Ideas? Direction?
I've shot a lot of it in my AR, but not at that price!
Keep checking websites a few times a day. Also hang out at www.ar15.com and keep an eye open for ammo flags.

PMC is OK range ammo made in SKorea.
Nothing special, but at least the brass is reloadable.
I think some of my PMC stock came from South Africa, yes its decent brass, at least mine is.
I don’t know where SA brass was produced.
The .308 stuff is OK
I have reloaded several thousand rounds of from the best I can recall about 4 years ago what was .223 PMC brass that was from SA, I picked up at a flea market about two 5 gallon buckets worth of it.
Lots of different headstamps in different country’s from different years show different points of origin.
It is a collectable past time in itself to collect cartridges and source headstamps/contracts.
If America has any sense left at all, 2014 will remedy any problems and 2016 will fix the rest. I have a core set of guns and ammo I keep, but I sell my surplus on the market. At this moment, I only have 1 Mak 90 left I might sell. I will sell the stamped and keep the milled. I'm still mulling how many Mini-14's a man might need, but for now, I will just sell one more Mak 90 I paid $165 for 20 years ago. I stocked up back in the Waco days and have been selling at a profit for years now.
There are guns I will never sell, but to pay these prices now would be too painfull for me, guns or ammo.

Learn to reload, I just made 2,000 rounds of 5.56 with military pull down projectiles with free brass I picked up off the ground from the range for $0.11 a round. Lots of folks leave their brass on the ground. That price only includes projectile, powder and ammo. Who are these suckers paying 50 cents to a dollar per round for 223 or 5.56 ammo?
Ooops...projectile, powder and ammo was suppose to say projectile, powder and primers.
I have been looking for reload supplies for a month now and most everything is sold out except for powder.
They come back in stock in piecemeal, just got to set up notifications via email with the component suppliers. Try Midway, Powder Valley, Midsouth Shooters, Wideners, Natchez and Graph & Sons. Also try your local Cabela’s and Gander Mountain and ever you local gun shops. I stocked up before the craziness so i paid fair price but now, you may pay a premium but its still cheaper than buying factory ammo at these prices.
I have 5.56x45 brass and 55 grain but can’t find primers anywhere that aren’t priced at 5x what they were mid December. Powder is a huge problem also...
