I am happy for her....there since the 1990s...happy with the locale and how she is....who’d have thunk a girl from Nutbush would have finally decided they liked being Swiss?
Go girl!

I think she retired a few years ago. But for the last 20 she had made most of her money in Europe, she has a larger fan base there. So for those earnings was she able to just pay Swiss taxes and not pay American taxes?
good riddence, take everyone else in the entertainment industry with you.
That’s odd - she doesn’t look Swiss.
Holy crap, besides getting to keep her money she will have more gun rights than the rest of us soon...
She has lived there for almost 20 years, she enjoys the country and the people, and she feels at home. I have no problem with her becoming a Swiss citizen. It sounds like a long coming, well considered decision.
Is this not correct?
In other words, she thinks that it's going to work out fine.
Switzerland looks a lot like Tennessee in some places........
Good for her. Thanks to all posters with information on Swiss citizenship.
Not surprised. She knows the taxes are going to get worse in America.
Apparently she isn’t happy being a citizen of the United States of Ike Turner anymore.
Cant say that I blame her.
Legs?
Fifteen years ago I worked with a client who was born in Switzerland, but his mother was Dutch, so he traveled under a Dutch passport. Maybe the Swiss have liberalized their naturalization procedures, but my impression is that it is incrediably difficult to get Swiss citizenship. Obviously, Ms Turner has overcome those difficulties.
