Comic novel about Hitler takes Germany by storm

A comic novel that imagines Adolf Hitler survived the Second World War is the surprise hit of Germany’s winter book season.

Er Ist Wieder Da (He’s Here Again) conceives that Hitler spent 66 years asleep in an open field in Berlin, then becomes something of a quizzical, harmless folk hero in the new millennium’s celebrity-driven media and cynical political machinery.

The debut novel by German journalist Timur Vermes has sold 250,000 copies of its initial 360,000 print run in Hitler’s homeland since it was published Jan. 18, dislodging Ken Follet’s Winter Of The World from the top of Germany’s bestsellers list.

"The reason it’s so important to study Hitler’s rise to power is because it CAN happen here... knowing Hitler’s story lets you be on the lookout for a similar phenomenon occurring here someday... perhaps someday soon :-("

Prior to Obama and his minions I wouldn't have believed it could happen here, but I do now.

I sometimes visit a popular site for women that reviews cosmetics, nail polish, skin care, that kind of thing. The site also has forums, and the women/girls who post on them are absolute mindless Obama drones. I saw a post where one said she was looking forward to four more years of Obama and possibly four more. If he could somehow manage to stage a coup, overturn the Constitution, and achieve tyrant-for-life status, his damn-fool supporters would be delighted.

The language, reviewers note, deliberately evokes the first-person narrative of Mein Kampf, the Nazi blueprint Hitler wrote in 1924, which a German publisher plans to reprint in 2015, the first reissue since 1945.

Wait..WHAT!?!

Not exactly sure which part your 'WHAT!?!' refers to, but 2015 is when the copyright to Mein Kampf - currently held by the state of Bavaria IIRC - expires (70 years after the author's death) and the book becomes public domain. The book, unlike a lot of the Nazi's symbols, has never been illegal in Germany. Bavaria just never allowed any reprints. And that right goes away in 2015. Just FYI.
