I thing the important thing is to remember is context and backstory; I agree with him. The fact that the characters lacked any real context, made understand their role impossible.

I did enjoy much of the film. However I agree with you a 100%. Had those issues been ironed out and the editing tightened they could have had not just a entertaining Bond film, but a truly GREAT Bond film.

Hollywood needs to relearn the art of storytelling is made great through precise and thoughtful editing that makes the story line and pacing the priority. The arrogance and laziness of Directors and Producers these days is obvious in their disregard of that well known fact.

That is so yesterday's thinking. Now all you need is blue filters lens flares and epic pan and tilt slo-mo dolly shots and a good dose of CGI!

Plots and pacing? pffft!
