Good for him. It's lives fully enjoyed like this that make me smile, and remember that I need to live my life to the fullest. It's not like any of us make it out alive.

I agree with you and I love his daughter’s comment: “His version of eating healthy was the lettuce on the Whopper Jr.”

Doctors had told him that a healthy died would help him live longer. Say, huh?

Damn...only 88? Just imagine how long he could have lived if he hadn’t eaten all those fatty burgers. (snicker)

We had a WWI vet here who lived to 104. At some point he was one of the oldest living WWI veterans around. On an interview he was asked what was his secret to such a long life and he replied, “I stopped smoking when I was 90”.

When my grandfather was in his 70s, his doc told him to give up Scotch. “It’s bad for your health.”, or somesuch, was the BS reasoning.
Grandpa’s response? He fired the doc. He enjoyed a scotch or two in the evening, right up until his passing at the ripe old age of 87.

Isn't it wonderful to be known for something? In this period of time, which society has no class, this is one more example. Then there are those that don't recognize tacky.
On the other hand, I have to admonish myself for wasting my time reading this.

Well, Dave, some folks will see it as tacky, and some folks will see it as a life spent as the person living it wanted it spent, and the family honoring that.
Sounds like you aren't happy with what you are doing if you 'wasted time' reading this thread.
God gave you one life. Do good with it, do well with it, and spread the joy of Christ.
You old prune.
