Dog sentenced to death because he is 'gay' is SAVED at the last minute by animal lover

'The dog dumped at a Tennessee animal shelter to be destroyed because his owner thought it was gay has been saved at the last minute by a kindhearted animal lover.

After the the plight of the American Bulldog mix was seen by millions online, Stephanie Fryns, a veterinary technician from Jackson, stepped up this afternoon and adopted him from Jackson TN Euthanasia.

Naming him Elton, Fryns, who already owns four dogs said that she had planned to rescue him even before his story had traveled around the Internet.

Describing the 50 pound dog as 'pretty friendly', Fryn said, 'He's pretty scared of everything, which is understandable. But he loved the car ride.'.

She said she suspected that Elton had been involved in illegal dog-fights, but that it was impossible to confirm. However he did have some redness on his ears. Fryn doubted he had been used routinely in dog fights because of his 'submissive' nature.

The last minute reprieve for Elton came with only hours to go until he was scheduled to be euthanized at the Tennessee animal shelter.

He was dumped there because according to the owner of the shelter, the dog's master noticed him 'hunched over' another male dog, which led him to assume he was gay.

Yesterday a Facebook user became of aware of his plight after seeing his picture on the shelter's timeline and contacted Jackson TN Euthanasia to discover the reason why he had been left there to be destroyed.'

If I ran a shelter and wanted to get rid of all my dogs I would make up a discrimination story about the animals and spread it through my Facebook page and just wait till the tree huggers fell for it.

I don’t believe this story one bit.

The guy who saved the animal runs a shelter for gay animals.

“Animal lover” just doesn’t feel right, given the headline.

“, the dog’s master noticed him ‘hunched over’ another male dog, which led him to assume he was gay.”

Everyone knows dogs hunch over other dogs as a dominance move. This sets off the B.S. meter.

“She said she suspected that Elton had been involved in illegal dog-fights, “

Dog fighters would know about dog dominance behavior.

“according to the owner of the shelter”

Wait, this is a private shelter!? What’s the owner doing euthanizing animals?

I’m with you. This is dual purpose bull. (Even the poor gay animals are oppressed and marked for death)

Around here the animal shelter doesn’t say much of anything about why the animals are there.

I would like to expose this story as a hoax. My BS meter is through the roof on this one. Any ideas on how to go about it?

The brother didn’t think this decision through very well. How humiliating it would be if in the middle of the dog fight, the dog dry humps the other dog.

I knew it was BS as soon as I saw his name was “Elton”. Who ever heard of a dog named “Elton”.

I live where this happened, and am a bit doubting also. The person who got the dog was from Little Rock (3 hour drive one way) and can’t be reached for comment. The rescue groups around here do a pretty good business selling small and medium dogs to folks in the NE. Their ethics have been questioned before

Does this mean he belongs to the NAMDLA (National American Man Dog Lover’s Association)?

Wait, this is a private shelter!?

No,it’s a county shelter. Perpetually low on funds. The part I don’t believe about the story is, the shelter is always full and doesn’t accept drop offs. They are overloaded with what the dog catchers bring in

I’ll help you, I live in Jackson. The only shelter with a kill policy is the county shelter. They don’t take drop-offs as they are always over full. This sounds more like a BS story from one of the rescue groups. Local radio is all over this saying the same

Our county shelters don’t have private owners (I used to volunteer at one) they’re supported with taxes and donations. Even with taxes they’re usually short on funds.

I agree with you about the story about the shelter always being full being strange. Shelters are full of cats not dogs. The only shelter around here that euthanized many animals was in the control of animal rights wackos. Their criteria for adoption was nearly impossible to meet so many animals never made it out alive.
