Many people think that the song American Pie is about the death of Buddy Holly and other musicians in a plane crash, but Glenn presented a reading of the lyrics on radio and showed how it could also be seen as a warning against the danger of violent uprisings.

I know Geffen is a flamer, but...in the ‘70’s some homo’s tried the straight life, Elton John and I think Rock Hudson even had a beard back around that time too and of course lets not forget Freddie Mercury who had a woman who he later left the bulk of his estate to. The most over-reaching part of this post was the Dinah Shore analogy. Bet Don MacClain is laughing all the way to the bank to cash this month’s royalty check.
The one song I know of that actually has no intended meaning and was written as such was Dirty World by The Traveling Wilburys. They sat down and looked through magazine adds and articles etc for ideas and pieced together the song.
