Another shiny object spotted on Mars (video)

Posted on 02/08/2013 7:32:47 AM PST by djf

No doubt in my mind this should be the lead story on MSM news.

Also, no doubt that it is NOT OURS, as it is imbedded in the rock, and it is NOT NATURAL!

Get A&E up there they will make a TV show about it. GOLD RUSH mars. I bet they could put it in a storage unit, then sell it to Pawn Stars.

Really if a space craft had the ability to get to Mars, do you think they would stop there. I would think earth is a far more interesting place to check out. Unless the aliens are using Mars as a secret listening post to spy on us.

Oooooo, hadn’t thought of the listening post angle. Wait I know, I know, Mars is a video game and the Martians wait for a civilization to get there and find stuff as the Martians run up scores over how much stuff is found with a rating scale. Kinda like Lost in Blue...we haven’t found the temple puzzles yet. :-) I still haven’t solved that last d@mn puzzle either. Grrrrr.

It has been suggested that is simply a metal vein in the soil or rock (they do exist on Mars) which has been exposed by the erosion of the soil/rock over time.

That said, it would be much more fun to imagine a different, perhaps unnatural, answer.

You people must be blind.

It is obviously partially melted pieces of the metallic capsule that carried owebama’s birth certificate into orbit and accidentally landed on Mars.

It almost looks like a blob of melted metal, possibly from volcanic or asteroid. It is probably the result of one of these and it is much larger than the piece shown here, the top layer of surrounding rock has weathered away from it so it appears to be standing when you are just seeing the tip of it.

That's what I was thinking too.

My personal belief is that they have known there is water and some forms of life on Mars for years.

I wish I could find it now, but back when we were first sending probes to Mars, some newspaper had a great cartoon.

It showed mom and pop Martian, in their slippers, sitting on the porch of their General Store and a US probe was to one side, sticking it's sensor into an box selling bags of ice and sending back a report to earth screaming "There's WATER on Mars!"

It could be the handle to the crypt where they keep Obozo’s birth certificate.

I opened in Photoshop, and adjusted some image settings to try to get the image/object to show a bit better, all without (hopefully) blowing everything out of wack totally.

Problem is - there are only so many pixels in the original image - One can increase the resolution, but you don't actually gain any image data - And I'm really not happy with this version - way too many artifacts in the jpg data/compression as well as those created in adjusting various aspects of the image.
