I grew up listening to Van Halen (DLR era)and GNR. Each generation differs. What I have in common is both bands disintegrated because the lead axe and frontman hated each other.

No, it isn't. In the world of pop music, it's a tie between Eddie Lang and "King" Bennie Nawahi. In the world of classical music, it's probably Andres Segovia.

I lean toward Stevie Ray Vaughan as being my favorite, but as a Tennessean, I’ll be danged if I let this thread go any further without mentioning Chet Atkins.

I’ll give all posters a pass on this grave insult to Chet, as the discussion was originally in regards to Rock & Roll guitarists... ;)
