Same month as Reagan, Washington, and Lincoln.

When I heard, I also thought of the End Times-and if you add in that asteroid that has come calling...

The cacophony over issues
Is louder almost every day-
But sequestration is looming
No matter what they have to say

Nasty Nancy proves she’s dumb
As she opens her mouth to berate-
She scolds about guns, she can’t
Even keep the amendments straight

An asteroid is on the way soon-
Global warming gets the blame
And it causes blizzards in winter-
Aren’t we tired of this stupid game?

I really wish I had a sweatshirt to wear like the one I saw on a guy in the grocery store some years ago-the front read “Jesus is coming!” and on the back, “And He is really pissed...”

I have plenty of plain sweatshirts-I think I’ll look in my sewing chest and see if I have either the fabric paints or some colored iron-on stuff I can use to make one...

I think ordering people off the roads makes sense - with that amount of snowfall you must be able to clear the road but I do NOT recall any declaration of emergency that resulted in Federal help with our snowfall - These pansy government officials expect the feds to pay for everything

There are Croatian Freepers who would expect me to be nasty on anything Vatican-related, given some of my posts on German and Balkan affairs.

Yes, I am VERY pro-Serbian, and anti-Papal supremacist, and consider Stepinac to be no saint at all. However, I consider Roman Catholics to be my brothers and sisters in Christ, and have made positive posts on Roman Catholic positions on pro-life and pro-marriage issues.

another twitter idiot:

Jose Canseco ‏@JoseCanseco

Why are all the Popes old men? They need younger strong men or women to be popes with energy that can last a while and get stuff done.

Frankly, I thnk that at this juncture it would be a good thing to have an African or Asian Pope. I believe such a Pope would be more likely to be conservative and would have had experience with administering a flock under highly adverse conditions.

I don’t do social media-there are loons in large numbers, and it is too easy to be stalked...

The Feds do pay for stuff, so a governor would be foolish to not declare an emergency. That’s the thinking.

When I was a kid we lived where it snowed for several years, and when MrT5 was in the Army-no Fed help that I can recall, either...

If those states where it snows regularly in the winter are going to declare an emergency every time there is a blizzard, there will soon be no money for emergencies anywhere.

Right. No women popes. That was so stupid I didn’t even notice it.

I don’t think a pope in his 50s would be a good idea either.

Every snow storm isn’t an emergency, but when you get massive amounts of snow it is disruptive and expensive. You can’t budget in each town and state for this amount of removal effort each year. It is an extraordinary event.

It’s perfect for insurance or pooling of risk. We don’t do that, though, we use the Federal gov’t as insurance for these kind of things.

Younger, as in over maybe 60-not enough life experience for that position before then. And no popesa, either-I really don’t think God’s vicar on earth should be concerned with recipes, needlework or female emotional issues-our female brains are different than that of a male, and that is not a good skillset for a pope...
