Watching that video brings back memories of the 3/1964 earthquake in Alaska. A 9.2 that lasted for 3 minutes. Very scary.
Wow...amazing that none of the buildings totally collapsed. Some very good earthquake engineering!

One of those days that I will always remember where I was when I found out it happened . It was graduation day at our junior high school in Kumamoto , Japan , and the afternoon party for the kids had just ended . I walked down the stairs from the room the party had been held in and saw a dozen people huddled around a TV . Walked over and saw the first of tons of video footage from Fukushima / Sendai . Horrific .
It’s too bad there is no video of the Lituya Bay tsunami.
