OK, I admit it......I finished the book already. (sigh) I couldn’t help myself. The book was an awesome thriller. Loved it.
I was right-the customer can’t afford to pay cash, and doesn’t have anything I need to barter for the work. I can’t work dor free, and she knows that so she will have to put the job off-thanks for the good wishes anyhow...

I saw a couple of news items on climate change/global warming, and we’re all doomed, blah, blah. I can hardly believe that these loons are talking about that on a day when a meteorite smashed into Russia (again) and an asteroid squeaked between our planet and some orbiting satellites-the sky really IS falling...
If they were smart, they’d STFU about climate change and start howling to get a way found to vaporize near-space objects that might cause harm. Hey, it is a worthy cause-not imaginary-everyone can see that they are real and a potential threat. I’m sure Al Gore could make a few bucks off of the research, too...
Actually no, though tomorrow may require my digging it out again. I was all dug out by last saturday eve, excluding the futzy snow plows that built up a small wall at the end of the drive way twice more sunday.

Barter seems to be becoming the prevalent way of simple goods and services in small communities-I’ve even saved back some of MrT5’s specialty woodworking tools to trade for an outside pretty-do so the house looks spiffy for sale-just need to find someoine who needs them, and has a strong back for the work...
I’m not an ecowacko or anything like that, but I’ve always strongly and vocally supported sensible conservation by each and every person. That said, while reading an article on endangered Mexican wolves, I saw a comment by one total idiot woman who opposed RE-introducing Mexican wolves into habitat in the mostly-bone-dry southwest they occupied before they were all killed-to make room for cattle to run pretty much without fences all over the place unattended, which makes no sense to me...
The woman protested further wolf re-introduction by saying of said wolves “These animals haven’t proven to be able to live in the wild.” What? It sounds like something Silly Jackson Lee would say...
