If the media didn't catch on to the CIC reading "corpse men" (a glaringly obvious gaffe to anyone who's been in the military) from the teleprompter, a "Purple Stars" reference will surely never see the light of day.

Thanks. Like many on this Blog, I’m sure, I immediately change the channel or hit the mute button whenever I see or hear the Poseur. So..., I would appreciate your marking the time. As a holder of the Purple Heart, you don’t WIN the danged thing. No soldier set out to WIN a Purple Heart. You don’t get into a firefight and say, man, I hope I can WIN a Purple Heart today! Idiots. It is an award for wounds received in action by enemy fire. Not awarded for falling down and cutting your pinky finger as our wonderful Sec of State did.

If the press gets to lambast Marco Rubio for taking a sip of water, I think we should get to lambast the President for calling it a Purple Star instead of a Purple Heart.

I wonder if my husband’s grandfather would feel like he “won” his purple heart. He was killed in Pearl Harbor.
It’s not necessary for the Commander in Chief of the armed forces to know the name of the medal awarded to soldiers injured or killed defending the Country.../s
