FULL TITLE: Company president, 60, 'slaps 19-month-old toddler in the face on a plane and tells his mother to ''shut that n****r baby up'''
A man has been accused of racially abusing then physically assaulting a 19-month-old child on a flight to Atlanta last Friday.
Joe Rickey Hundley, 60, allegedly demanded that the mother of the crying toddler 'shut that n****r baby up' before slapping the infant in the face on the Delta flight on February 8.
According to The Smoking Gun, Hundley has been charged with simple assault after the incident with Jessica Bennett, 33, and her son Jonah.
Bennett told authorities that her son 'started to cry due to the altitude change' as the service from Minneapolis to Atlanta prepared for landing.
Ms Bennett and her adopted child shared a seat on their way to a family funeral while Mr Hundley was in the neighboring seat.
Bennett said she was unable to stop the infant crying. A report compiled by FBI Agent Daron Cheney alleges that Hundley turned to the mother and used the racial slur in telling her to shut up the child.

Excellent common-sense reply.
Your mother is a very resourceful woman. :)
Is that the “CEO”...? Looking at his eyes, I’d say “drunken” is a pretty normal condition for him.
Nail the slob. I’ve been on planes with drunks and it’s an extremely unpleasant thing, because you never know who they’re going to turn on next. Anything irritates a drunk, and this guy seemed to decide a baby was a safe target.
Did you read anything?
I’m afraid that would have had me grabbing the old man’s face like a bowling ball. If he was lucky he would look like a refugee from a rest home for pirates the rest of his life.
And I would be wondering how I got to be sitting on a steel bed with ink on my fingers... :^(
I always offer the kid something to play with.
Ditto on the ass whipping.
Which kid in this case would you offer something to play with?
“... I don’t know who sat in the seat before me.. could have been a baby who crapped in his diaper”.
Would you prefer an ADULT who crapped in his diaper?! LOL!
how does hurting the child make them stop crying??
i never got that
Flying ia a painful experience for small children, and small children who cry on airline flights are not “brats.” Frankly, I feel like slapping the bejeebers out of anyone who describes them as such.
Instead of making yourself into a fool for all to see, perhaps you ought to try reading the article first:
Agent Cheney added that Bennett received help from other passengers on the Delta flight. Todd Wooten, who was seated 12 rows ahead, told authorities that he 'heard derogatory language coming from the rear of the aircraft' and went to see what was going on.Care to retract your snap judgement?'According to Mr. Wooten,' Cheney wrote, 'he saw Joe Rickey Hundley strike' the child.
There's a bit more info in the article. For one thing, there's a witness to the slapping aside from the mother, and apparently unrelated to her. For another, he CEO has a previous known police record of both public intoxication and assault.
Sorry, my last post was not quite accurate. He has a past police record of assault. I don’t see a record of public intoxication.
I understand Sacajaweau’s point of view. There are a lot out there that feel young children should not be taken to a funeral. That they are too young to understand.
I for one am one of them. When I was in early grade school was take to one that was of my stepfamily’s relatives. It was when funerals were still done in people’s homes. I was creeped out seeing a dead body in the living room, and even more creeped out when told one of their relatives killed the man.
Leave little kids with other family members for real!
“... how does hurting the child make them stop crying?”
It doesn’t. It is obvious this guy is not only an azzhat but a racist azzhat at that. Now... if it was me and someone slapped the baby in my arms... let’s just say the scene that then unfolded would not have been as pretty. I would have no issue whatsoever to give the old drunk a good whuppin’ right back. (and I fight dirty)
What travel options would that be?
