That scene always makes me cry. We DVR’d The Greatest Story Ever Told and fell asleep last night to it. It’s a beautifully done movie.

No commercials on TCM. Uncut, and uninterrupted.

I think TCM is commercial-free.

Were they wearing traditional habits?

Charlton Heston discusses training for the "Ben-Hur" chariot race with renowned stuntman Yakima Canutt. What a great man, great American and a great actor IMO. He is sorely missed.

One of the BEST movies ever made.

I wish TCM would show The Fishaerman with Anthony Quinn. I’m not Catholic, but I loved how it showed the traditions of the Conclave.

TCM has no commercials ... one of the few things Ted Turner got right.

Awesome! I haven't yet watched Ben Hur, at least that I remember, maybe as a small child. I don't have TV and this is one of those rare times that I wish I did. Is it on the net in it's entirety anywhere?

Indeed. At Christmas time, I showed one of my church deacon’s young children the nativity scene from Ben-Hur:

They were a little young for the whole movie but I thought the nativity scene was great.
