How to Tell If Someone Is a Sociopath
ehow.com ^

Posted on 02/17/2013 8:07:04 PM PST by BenLurkin

A sociopath is characterized by the deficit of social emotions such as love, guilt, shame or remorse. According to the University of Tennessee-Knoxville, the sociopath lacks "a sense of moral responsibility and social conscience." Sociopaths often scheme to manipulate others without regard to consequences of inflicting harm. It is the cold-hearted way the sociopath reacts to his victims that illustrates his lack of moral compass and detachment from other human beings.

Verify stories and information provided by the suspected sociopath. Sociopaths typically concoct elaborate backgrounds, inflate their worth and experience and simply lie to convince others to give them what they want.

4

Look for lack of expression of guilt or remorse for wrongful actions towards others. Lack of emotion and failure to express remorse typically signals sociopathic tendencies. Sociopaths convicted of violent crimes typically remain expressionless and exhibit a cold exterior.

Obama is the POSTER BOY for NARCISSISTIC BEHAVIOR.

He desperately needs attention. Hell, that speech wore him out. He took Air Force One for a golf vacation. The jobs he has had are much harder then AA classes at Harvard. That is why a part timer like Obama graduated. He was there part time.

And...they CANNOT stand an 'un-eventful' existence.

Which is almost a funny statement since our own Fed (and many, many times) state and local governments cannot STAND when we as Americans want to simply live un-eventful lives, if not prepared for THEIR "drama"..

I agree! As we going slouching towards Gomorrah, societal norms no longer keep them in check.

I was married to a sociopath. She did incalculable damage to our children, emotionally and financially. ...even sued our older son. The court effectively rewarded her behavior!

I hope you and your children are recovering. Sociopaths are so common; that it is uncommon, to know folks who are not. All the best, to you and yours.

I very seriously think we should be teaching about sociopaths in school (maybe high school). Many are hurt by these people before they are recognized for what they are, and learning to how to avoid this would be a very basic and useful life skill. It would also help to recognize this personality type in politics, informing the vote. I have been burned more than once (it’s taken me a long while to learn my lesson) and it can turn your life upside down. Sociopaths can be extremely charming, so they’re not that easy to recognize upfront, without experience.

spot on - cept you didnt mention the underlying pathology of narcissistic personality disorder - the sociapathy in my opinion stems from that -

My dad is extremely successful, yet completely lacking empathy and introspection for his actions...all stemming from a very specific emotional trauma in his early (adolescent) development, not unlike barrys abandonment both by his father and mother

These people are to be avoided at any cost, as no amount of discussion, reason or counseling will improve any relationship in which they participate

I very seriously think we should be teaching about sociopaths in school (maybe high school).

The schools have already got that angle covered. The teaching profession attracts sociopaths. Some (most?) of them appear to be extremely charming, but they seek out captive, easily led audiences (IOW, the young, innocent, naive) in order to enjoy the power to control, manipulate, and bully. The schools would teach that the righteous, honest, just members of society are the dangerous sociopaths. Well, nothing future about that.

And how about the military brass. An overabundance of sociopaths in that demographic as well. They impose debased, demoralizing, and destructive policies upon the military members because they can. They know that they have a captive audience who can't simply get up and vote with their feet or freely speak their minds.

Sociopaths have a never-ending lust for power, drama, and trouble. Destroying locusts all, be they in politics, communities, organizations, or homes. By their very nature they can't sit still and leave things be.

From Ben Lurkin:

Barry Hussein comes to mind.

Indeed

Revelation 9:11 And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon.

Once you know them, you cannot un-know them. Recognition of such folks, is something that is best taught by traumatic experience. Check out Paul Ekman. He’s the best I know, as far as teaching goes.

Im a retired pastor - and when I signed up, I had been catering BBQ as well....so I though the name fit the political circumstance, as well as my then profession of “pit” bbq...
