Review Of ObamaCare Survival Guide
dm ^ | 2.18 | Richard Morris

Posted on 02/18/2013 7:47:42 AM PST by ExxonPatrolUs

So often, books are called “must read.” The ObamaCare Survival Guide is only a must read if you think you will ever get sick!

ObamaCare changes the rules of the game totally. I fought this law tooth and nail along with a lot of you. But it’s the law now and Obama’s victory assures that we are not going to be able to repeal it anytime soon. So this book teaches you how to live with it and make it give you the best health care you can get.

The fundamental element of ObamaCare is that it disempowers doctors, hospitals, patients, and even insurance companies and transfers the power to the federal government. But Washington exercises its power by setting broad bands, limitations, and directives each of which permit great room for individual maneuver. This book tells you how to go about it.

Don’t believe the Obama propaganda that the new law won’t change anything in your own personal health care universe. It will, in reality change everything!

You will, sooner or later, have to buy new health insurance. The law ratchets back the incentives to employers to offer coverage so dramatically that millions will lose their coverage each year and the tendency will mount until there will be no more coverage on the job. So you’ll have to enter the health exchange to buy insurance. You need to know what is covered in the various plans and what is not. There are Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze plans and you have to know what each offers, at what price, and with what terms to decide which best fits your family’s needs.

If you don’t have insurance, you need to understand how to go about getting subsidies to help you buy a policy and to decide if you want full coverage or only for catastrophic care. You need to weigh the benefits of paying the fine (which increases every year) or getting coverage.

Once you are covered — in a new or an existing policy — you’ll need to understand how to work around the health care rationing (and ultimately the death panels) which finance the law. The Independent Payments Advisory Board (IPAD) will set these rules and regulations and your doctor will have to follow them. But there are ways to squeeze the best health care out even with these limits. You need to know how to go about it.

Thank the Lord that there is now a non-partisan, non-political book that explains all this in terms we can all understand. Get a copy. It is truly a survival guide.

I totally and passionately disagree with the premise. Obama Care is NOT YET the law of the land, and this is merely a capitulation sold on the premise that if you read this book, you’ll be eaten last by the alligator. TOTAL BS.

Why are we posting ads for books by DICK MORRIS?

This book probably tells you to eat poison and call it candy.

Yes, it does seem too soon to settle on a “plan” concerning Obamacare since different aspects of it will be (and are) being contested.

Why does every Dick Morris pitch end with “Buy My Book!” or “Send Me Money!”?

And yet the fact that the president, the leader of the senate and the speaker of the house lied to the nation about the facts of this bills means nothing to most of the country and the media.

A search says it was written by Nick Tate. Dick Morris may be a fan but he didn’t write it.

Yep, and the DC lawyers, the corrupt politicians, and the faceless and disconnected bureaucrats now have full access to every private scrap of healthcare information to use as they see fit, mostly for their own gain of money and power. Most obama-voters WILL NOT PAY FOR THEIR OWN INSURANCE; we the taxpayer, will pay for theirs and ours.

You are correct about the people who will get ‘free’ healthcare this law was implemented to pull even more people under the ‘free’ umbrella at the detriment of all who actually pay for insurance plus pay taxes.
The same ones who get free healthcare now will get free Obamacare so they won’t notice a difference.

I know he’s a puke, but Roberts did say that as a tax, purchasing health insurance is still a choice.

Buying insurance or paying the tax is portrayed as a neutral choice by Chief Justice John Roberts who wrote in his majority opinion “…imposition of a tax nonetheless leaves an individual with a lawful choice to do or not do a certain act, so long as he is willing to pay a tax levied on that choice”. (How Much Is The Obamacare Mandate Going To Cost You? Grace-Marie Turner, Forbes, 7/24/12)

Looking at the scheduled tax/penaltites, and because of guanranteed issue, it seems prudent for healthly individuals to pay the tax and buy insurance only when they get real sick. It might be a moot point because when you get sick, you lose your job, and would most likely qualify for Medicaid.

The real thing to watch is the rise in health care premiums. In all liklihood, health care insurance prices will outstrip the scheduled tax/penalties written into the 0-care law.

That makes it a little better. Dick Morris is probably getting a cut. I just don't trust that guy farther than I can comfortably spit a rat.

What do you think we're doing now? When an uninsured person shows up at the emergency room for their "free" care, who do you think actually pays that cost?

You need a better job.

Look, I am we’ll aware that ER currently covers those that show up. But, if free care is available for any exam or procedure, the number of parasites seeking anything free will increase 10 fold. There will be a major difference.

Two things:

1. Nobody is talking about "any exam or procedure" being "free." I don't know where you got that.

2. Preventative care is highly cost effective. We've known that for thousands of years, but suddenly everyone forgot... oh, about three years ago. Giving someone care early saves you an enormous amount over giving someone acute care later. Here's a common and obvious example: it's much, much cheaper to treat someone with Type 2 Diabetes than it is to treat someone who has gone blind or lost a foot because of untreated Type 2 Diabetes. The only way you get around that is if you say we're not going to treat anyone who can't pay.

Service will be free to those that don’t pay for insurance. This will drive all rates higher, service will suffer, and the govt inspired system will be abused.
