"The Anvil Chorus" is a 1962 episode of "The Rifleman" that clearly illustrates the disastrous results of gun control. A blacksmith-turned-deputy sets the stage for trouble when he demands that all townspeople turn in their guns.
I remember that episode as depicting how a normal person given a little civic authority turned into a petty dictator. There are lots of those. They can be found everyhere from your town librarian to the school board, from your homeowners association to the police department... to the White House.
Or how about Doctor Zhaviga a 1957 novel by Boris Pasternak about the disastrous human suffering caused when large portions of a population cannot resist the imposition of socialist ideology and the destruction of the free market economy. Later made into a movie staring Omar Sharif and Julie Christie.
Or how about Alive in the Killing Fields, the memoir of Nawuth Keat, a survivor of the Khmer Rouge genocide in Cambodia, later used as one of the sources for the 1984 movie The Killing Fields.
What movie will be made about the post-Civil-WarII America?
It’s rather annoying how much time they spend justifying future gun control on the basis of civilizing influences.
Just like when old west town cleaners made a town gun free. it was unlawful then as well as now.
Did you notice the sentiments put in the mouth of his son (young, idealistic, innocent, “good”, etc.) at the end?
The propaganda machine has been operative for long and long my FRiend.
