Thank you!

I’m just glad the trellis came down in the yard instead of blowing against the glass in the door. The wind is gusting (probably) up to 50 mph or more-enough to be downright dangerous in these hills.

I cut my hike short when it came up early this morning-it happened gradually, so that I didn’t really notice until I came out of the cover of the forest at the top of a hill. I was standing there at the top of a rockfall, enjoying the view-for-miles when a gust nearly knocked me right over it. I took the trail through the deepest, darkest part of the woods to get home-to hell with the mountain lion and the wild hogs...

This man has been the victim of a perpetual leftist calumny:

Menendez says it's all calumny as he plays the race card.

Right but I can only squeeze so much from a word that just doesn't have enough letters in it.
A whole alphabet to use and Webster gets stingy like he was paying for the letters. No wonder kids gotta go to the Mickey Mouse Club to learn to spell ‘encyclopedia’

I borrowed my neighbor’s darling mastiff to hike with me yesterday, since I was going to a destination in the neighborhood that no one goes to any more-a little park in the woods by a now-deserted RV park. The doggie was delighted with the walk-she is a very good on a leash.

Some weird noises and lights have been seen there at night, so I decided that if I was going there alone, it wouldn’t hurt to have about 145 pounds of nightmare hellhound with me. I hadn’t been there for a year or so-a pretty little place, but someone has thrown the tables, benches and trash barrels all around. Juno and I shared my granola bar and water there, and headed back.

I startled Juno’s owner, who had his music cranked up and was jammin while working on his truck. He jumped about three feet when I came up and put her leash in his hand...

Nashville’s Metro animal control had a female husky listed, one year old named Juneau, this weekend. I thought of you when I saw her. She was a beauty.

An appropriate name for a Husky-a friend of mine has one named Tundra. My Husky girl has gotten used to being the only dog-and from what I’ve heard, I’m in possession of one of the few Huskies who isn’t a cat killer.

I hope the Husky gets a good home with people who will keep her indoors when she is not supervised-there is likely no breed of dog more inclined and able to escape a yard, and you can’t trust them off leash unless they are fenced...

She really is-and her owners are not hikers at all, so she seldom gets to go beyond their fence-she has to be indoors while they are at work, because she can get out of the yard, and likes to go exploring-most people are afraid of those dogs because of bad press and movies, so that just isn’t safe.

I’m happy to take Juno for the walks she likes-she doesn’t try to lunge and run after deer (which Husky girl does), she’s a great deterrent to anyone wanting to do harm, and her owner says I’m saving their house from destruction-apparently she has taken to chewing the furniture when she feels neglected and bored.

I go outside in the yard with Husky girl all the time, throw her ball, play hiding games with her, etc, but I can’t take her outside the fence and not have her pull at the leash and harness, jump around, howl and scream like she is being dragged off by a mountain lion, etc-she is a Husky, and they were bred to run and pull a sled. She has been leash-trained since puppyhood, but ten minutes outside the fence is all she will put up with before she wants to go off running the damn Iditerod. And there are loose dogs around that could hurt her.

Heard about central TX winds further north of Medina - Are you still OK in the hill country, or are they getting worse?
