Gallup finds that only 11% of Mexicans said they would emigrate to America if given the chance. Thats down from 21% in 2007. Keying off those findings, Walter Russell Mead nicely sums up the case for being skeptical that immigration reform will mean millions more low-income workers heading to the US:
Fears that America will be overrun by a mass of poor workers from Latin America are looking more and more like yesterdays news. Birthrates in Mexico are falling, and the economic situation continues to improve. At 5 percent, Mexicos unemployment rate is nearly three points below ours. In 2012, its GDP grew by nearly 4 percent, and foreign investors, encouraged by the turnaround, poured $57 billion into stocks and bonds in the first nine months. Forthcoming reforms in the telecommunications and energy sectors may also help those industries to boom. The countrys economic forecasts are so promising that the Financial Times has dubbed it the Aztec tiger.
What a load of Horse Shit! Our UE rate may be 3 points higher but the wages are significantly higher. Besides stoop labor in Mexico doesn’t pay at all that is why their poor are here. If we sent al their citizens back, they would have a significantly higher unemployment rate.
Let’s not even talk about the rate of crime including kidnapping and drug gang violence.
Mexico’s birthrate may already be below that of the U.S. If not, it soon will be.
Those are the ones who would come here LEGALLY.
Oh, that's great.
And what percentage of Americans would emigrate to Mexico if they had the chance?
The USA gets to keep the dregs.
LOLOLOL
WAY . TO . GO ., 0 BA MA!
Of course, there's still 11% to go, so expect a great deal more misery...
You need to quit curling up.
At least 10% of the Mexican population (114 million) is already in the US, but those are official figures, which can’t be trusted. The real number is probably closer to 20%.
Now, if another 11% are willing to come here, that brings the total to something like 30%.
This **** has to stop.
From a bio about Walter Russell Mead:
“Mr. Meads chief intellectual interests involve the rise and development of a liberal, capitalist world order based on the economic, social, and military power of the United States and its closest allies. He is interested in the implications of this evolving world order for American foreign policy and for American and international society.”
Emphasis on ‘Liberal’ and ‘WORLD ORDER’. With, I’m sure a patronizing reference to ‘capitalist’ being that he means a ‘free-market’ controlled by GOVERNMENT....fascism.....
IOW, what he thinks is horseshit. I agree.
Mexicos birthrate may already be below that of the U.S. If not, it soon will be
Its “Death by Drug Cartel” rate is quite high, too
Besides whether Mexicans want to immigrate or not....the border needs to be sealed....and all illegal aliens deported.
As soon as they pass a law that basically says “If you’re here, you get to stay...” there will be 25 million more flooding across.
That’s the bottom line.
When is the treatment of American citizens in Mexico and their rights vs US treatment of Mexicans going to be an issue when we discuss amnesty ?
This is a question: Should Mexican citizens when in the US be given the same rights American citizens are given while in Mexico? Which has yet to appear on any US legislator’s questionaire from either chamber....ASK YOUR FEDERAL LEGISLATORS WHY IT HASN’T
What makes it necessary for US to subjugate our sovereignty because of available cheap labor ?
Ever hear of reciprocal aggrements ? These are arranged to protect the rights of American citizens working or living in other countries.
Why is it when it comes to citizens of other countries we are required to offer them the same privledges as we do to US citizens? But when it comes to US citizens who get in trouble or attempt to do business in other countries they do not get the same treatment their citizens get.
Americans cant own coast land in Mexico. And get no title to it elsewhere. If they run out of cash theyll get unceremoniously sent back or put in jail untill some relative comes up with the fresh. Thats just for starters as for granting them voting privledges yea lets give Mexican citizens that right when American citizens vote in their elections .

Pretty simple to figure that out. The younger people are sneaking in here or walking across the border to have their kids who automatically become Americans on the day they are born. No job? Get on welfare, have more kids, get free medical care and the list goes on and on. Now WHY would anyone want to come here you ask?
You have to remember that we sent a lot of our jobs down there.
GM, Hershey ,to name a couple.
Why would anyone flee into a communist country expecting to better their lives?
I guess Obama will have to sweeten the pot to attract more Mexican talent....vomit.
