A Chill Wind
self | 28 Feb 13 | self

A chill wind is blowing in this nation. A message is being sent through the White House and its allies… If you oppose this administration, there can and will be ramifications.

And in the midst of all this madness, where is the political opposition?… We need leaders, not pragmatists that cower before the spin zones of former entertainment journalists. We need leaders who can understand the Constitution…

The journalists in this country can battle back at those who would rewrite our Constitution… You have, whether you like it or not, an awesome responsibility and an awesome power: the fate of discourse, the health of this republic is in your hands, whether you write on the left or the right. This is your time, and the destiny you have chosen.

We lay the continuance of our democracy on your desks, and count on your pens to be mightier. Millions are watching and waiting in mute frustration and hope – hoping for someone to defend the spirit and letter of our Constitution, and to defy the intimidation that is visited upon us daily…

Our ability to disagree, and our inherent right to question our leaders and criticize their actions define who we are. To allow those rights to be taken away out of fear, to punish people for their beliefs, to limit access in the news media to differing opinions is to acknowledge our democracy’s defeat…”

Exerpts from Tim Robbins 2003.

I guess it isn't a "chill wind" when THIS White House does it, and the media close ranks to condemn Woodward who had the bad taste to point out the truth that they don't want to hear.

Mainstream journalists have already chosen sides.

The republic is doomed.

Obama is a dangerous petulant narcissist. The MSM have not functioned as journalists but as sycophants. However some may be sensing that Obama’s bizarre policies are leading to disaster and they wish to begin distancing themselves from the coming debacle.

Hopefully Woodward, and now Lanny Davis, will start the tidal wave against Hussein. Maybe the love fest is finally over.

A good movie to see is The Mortal Storm.

It will be played again on Turner Classic Movies on May 20, 2013, at 10:00AM.

It's about the chill wind that spreads across Germany as the Nazis rise to power in pre-war Europe.

Hussein will eat Woodward and Lenny alive.

Now we’ll have to wait till Panetta starts to bitch publicly.

"Obama is a dangerous petulant narcissist."

Wait until an Obama critic has some health "issue."

He'll be dependent of Obama's "Death Panels (IPAB)" for the care he will need.

Then he'll know what Obama meant by "revenge."

We'll all know when our time comes.

In 1928, every German would have said “that can’t happen here.” In 1948 every German said “how could we have let that happen?”

I doubt it. The assumption of Woodward was that if 0bama knew about this he would disapprove. They reflexively give their left wing allies the benefit of every doubt, while attributing the most sinister motives to any and all actions of any conservative. I doubt they are even aware of the double standard.

The Obama Administration and the DNC have been using the IRS and LEO agencies to harass and intimidate TEA Party and Republican candidates with forms of intimidation ranging from abusive style IRS tax audits to local law enforcement abusively towing and ticking parked vehicles. They have even gone so far as to attack and punish the children of a candidate who challenged a Democrat incumbent, when the three well respected doctoral candidates were forced out of an Oregon university. Chilling is a very mild description of what is going on in this nation.

At home, becoming more self-sufficient, more productive, and learning to spend less. ;-)

I see your point but i see nothing in the constitution that points to them as leaders, the fact that we are looking for and voting for people in congress to lead us instead of represent us indicates that we also do not understand that this is a nation where the people governs them selves.

We just need to get people in congress who will fight for the people by fighting for the Constitution.

The majority of the people rule only where it is not forbidden by the constitution.

Yet if some one runs to represent us who really knows and believes in the constitution they are snubbed because they are not seen as great leaders.

They need to be followers, not leaders, followers first of the constitution and then of the people who elects them.

I disagree. Our Constitution provides for a Republican form of government so that we elect (or have elected for us as the original Senate and the Presidency ) leaders with the foresight to ignore popular opinion when popular opinion is wrong. A Presidency via poll numbers is an abandonment of the real Constitutional role. At that point we may as well be a Democracy, a hateful word to our founders, as it should be to us.

They are supposed to uphold the constitution, even against the whims of the people, that do not make them leaders and they can be kicked out by the whims of the people right or wrong, so it would be a good idea for them to listen to the ones who voted them in as long as it is constitutionally legal.
