FREEP THIS POLL ***PING!*** FRmail me if you want to be added or removed from the Fearless Poll- Freeping Freepers Ping list. (multiple votes using multiple internetz devices are allowed!) And be sure to ping me to any polls that need Freepin', if I miss them. (looks like a medium volume list) (gordongekko909, founder of the pinglist, stays on the list until his ghost signs up for the list)
I don’t have an opinion as I plan to never board another plane except in case of extreme emergency involving my kids and grandkids who are in Canada for the next year and a half.
79% against.
Defending yourself is one thing but remember that 9/11 hijackers only had box knives. What could they accomplish with real knives?
Only one ping this time. Hope that particular glitch is fixed.
Poll is down on the right hand side
Of course that only killed 3,000 people. Me thinks the DHS is STUCK ON STUPID.
“small” pocket knives. I was too lazy to look up the specs
I quit flying commercial years ago. If I can’t drive, fly myself, or get a friend to fly me ... I don’t go. When they created another federal agency and made it grotesquely pc (rather than privatize it and allow common sense to be employed) — well — I said goodbye to the pc skies. So whatever.... The only airline pilots I know carry in the cockpit. I don’t know very many.
Still 79% @ 7:38 PM CST (5717 votes to 1555)
Still no sewing needles allowed for prospective jurors (jury duty), though. When’s the last time someone was murdered with a sewing needle?

I carry a 3.5 inch blade everyday, I have box cutters all over my building and warehouse.
The problem is not the knife but those who are complacent when confronted.
If someone wants a knife or box cutter on airplane it will be there, TSA is a joke.
I really believe men now know they have to fight on a an Aircraft, I know I will
What can you accomplish with a ball point pen?
The knives they are talking about are the tiny knives with 2” blades less than 1/4” wide. You would be hard pressed to make a weapon out of it.
I will fly commercial once in a while...I suck down $5.00 Bloody Mary, and shout out a 1 -10 grade on the flying pilots’ landing while passing the cockpit. Other than that, I fly myself with S&W...that way I can hijack myself to LAS;-)
Three points of entry in the human skull. The ears, nasal cavity or the eye sockets. All can be fatal, but the ears are the quickest.
If you have some medical or martial arts training there is always the carotid artery.
If it is sizable and has some heft to it you can use it as a kubaton for nerve strikes and compliance holds.
The only reason TSA exists is because terrorists got box cutters onto an airline.
Now we let them bring them onboard.
Abolish the TSA!
About what I carry with screwdriver, corkscrew and punch attachments. It was free, so it’s good for minor adjustments on equipment at work.
“Defending yourself is one thing but remember that 9/11 hijackers only had box knives. What could they accomplish with real knives?”
Thats Gay. What they would accomplish with real knives is to experience a good solid ass kicking. I defy anyone to try to take over an airliner with a knife. That was a one trick pony. Now you’d get dogpiled and strangled. Bombs in luggage, ok. Blades in the cabin? It’d be downright funny to see anyone try that. LOL
Blades about 2.5” long and 1/2” wide, no lock.
