The Walking Dead Spoiler Bomb: Odd Pairings and Rising Tensions Are On the Way!

The return of The Walking Dead hasn't been a disappointment for fans: The show has (wisely) dialed down on the pointless yelling, and replaced it with masterful twists, subtle character development, and, of course, lots of zombies.

Will we get an all-out war between the prison group and Woodbury? Too soon to tell. But in the meantime, the tension is building, and this next episode ratchets it up significantly.

Here's what to expect:

The biggest thing you have to overlook — where in the world are all of the people who would be having the time of their lives? Everyone is so down, but there are tons of people who would relish every moment of it. Some wouldn’t survive of course, some would find it wasn’t what they thought it would be, but at least one person, out of all of the people shown, should have a permanent grin plastered on his face.

At least one person should be test driving every Ferrari he can find, telling every pretty girl that it’s time to repopulate, drinking every bottle of expensive scotch, and going on a zombie hunt every time he feels a little bored.

Instead, we get people like Lori, spending every waking moment wondering whether it is worth it to go on another day. I would have loved to see someone to have asked her (or any other who see this as pointless) — would you trade your current situation for that of a prisoner in a North Korean camp? If they can “go on”, why can’t you?

that, and when they’d fight them off they’d all be covered in walker blood and offal. and nobody’s ever got any little bit in their mouths or eyes or body cut or scrape? ever? never?

again, things to overlook.

i think the walker fights atwoodbury kind of cover the urges. i think most people would be scared and most are dumb as rocks when it comes to improvising.

not sad lori isn’t around. kind of wish andrea wasn’t either.

Agreed. There is no reason they cant clear out the prison yard. And whoever is on duty can easily walk the fence poking zombies with ease. Now, on other zombies show, them bitches ran at high speed. THAT, was a whole different matter. See the movie 28 Days Later starring Robert Carlisle.

yeah they should have been scrounging up all the armor off the dead guards in the prison. way stupid to not write that in. that’s natural preservation instinct, they blew it.

No matter how bad things are ya gotta laugh at something.

Heck, if you can’t laugh at a zombie,
who can you laugh at?

Still don’t buy it. People have been in far more harrowing situations, for an extended period of time, and have come through with a greater love of life, not less.

As far as the fact that everybody but Morgan is as dumb as rocks when it comes to creativity — why have they all died off? Shouldn’t they have been the ones to survive (on average)?

That is what kind of ticks me off about the show. At least one person should have pointed out the obvious. For 99% of human existence, this was how people lived — in a hostile world, filled with peers who wanted whatever you had, in a world where insta-death was an ever present possibility. Yet everyone, without exception, sees this as the worst possible state for man to live in.

In addition to “where are all the creative people?” — where are all of the people who understand the kind of world our ancestors lived in? Personally, I would much rather face herds of walkers, or a bunch of incompetents from Woodbury, than be a farmer in northern England facing a bunch of Vikings.

i agree about the love of life thing, and i think they’ve shown some of it in season 2, but not much. problem is the show is more interesting with them under stress.

i don’t think all of woodbury is incompetent, clearly they aren’t. but generally looking at intelligence on the bell curve, you don’t get a lot of geniuses and most people aren’t great innovators when you do work that has nothing to do with skills or fixing things or feeding people or building stuff, and then come home and watch 6-8 hours of tv and video games and surfing the web. just sayin.

Humans would figure how to lure and kill off the bumbling biters but fast

Advanced peoples have usually made quick work of the less capable

Biters aint exactly Blackfeet or Commanche or Zulu or Picts

Now that took work

Zombies would be controlled in months...
