Once Bond turned gay I was through. Plenty of older movies, where he wasn’t so ‘experimental’.

That was not a Bond movie and to suspend disbelief i would have to enter the stages of being catatonic.

.
.

It did not “flow”.

They attempted to put 50 pounds into a 25 pound bag.

It felt like they used three movie scripts and squeezed it into one film.

Parts were excellent.

Stop and think of the previous Bond films.

I’d say that Goldfinger seemed to have the best continuity and progression of the overall story.

But what do I know?

Let’s face it - what other film concepts could keep rolling well for over twenty more and keep bringing in the big bucks.

Now what will the next 007 flick be like?

I just saw this on Blu-Ray last night (thank you Netflix). Actually one of the better recent Bond movies. Obligatory car chase, check. Casino scene, check. Big explosions, check.

Yeah, I know it's a movie but my two biggest physics bloopers in this and a lot of other movies like it are:

  1. You cannot outrun an explosion! Blast waves propagate at something like 700 MPH and yet there goes bond outrunning the flames in the tunnel beneath the manor.
  2. You can't stand feet from an explosion and walk away as if nothing happened. Silva is basically standing right in front of the manor as it blows up and yet stands up afterwards with little more than a rumpled jacket and in need of a hair comb. In reality the concussion would have burst his lungs and seriously scrambled his internal anatomy--that's how blast really kills.

Still, an enjoyable action yarn. Fines as the new M should be good (not much demand for Voldemort these days). Dench was well past her sell-by date in the last few rounds so good to see her exit.

I liked Skyfall. Not at all into the ridiculous "Moonraker" era Bonds.

A gun and a small radio, and that's it - maybe the best thing to ever happen to the franchise.

The recent Casino Royale was far and away the best Bond movie ever. It actually had a really good story line, I can’t think of another Bond movie with such a good story line. If I rate CR a 10, the next best is probably only a 7.

Saw Skyfall and enjoyed it. Still wondering how Bond survived that fall at the beginning of the movie.

I liked Skyfall. I especially enjoyed the “old school” takedown of the bad guys. And I agree with your sentiment about watching movies in the comfort of home, especially because I can adjust the volume on the TV and rewind for mumbled dialogue.

Will read comments to see if someone else could put their finger on it...

I think I know what you're talking about now.

Is it the 'GRANBOROUGH' scene at Q Branch -- in which James is able to analyze a sophisticated computer encryption ahead of Q himself?
