Moonshiners TV star Steven Ray Tickle has been arrested for public intoxication while allegedly needing to be carried away to a city jail.

The 35-year-old known by just his surname of Tickle was arrested last week after a citizen complained of a man seen sitting in a parking lot drinking from an open container.

Police reporting to Charley's Stop and Shop in Danville, Virginia on Thursday afternoon say they found Tickle drinking alone in a parked car while also smelling of alcohol.

If you are going to get caught drinking, at least get caught drinking your own moonshine, not a packaged beer. Bad PR.

Good that the cops showed up. That could have ended badly for some innocent people had Tickle decided to start that car.

Love it. I am 50 miles from all these guys. I have members of my family in the past that can tell stories of moonshining.

Funny thing is... they use subtitles. Heck, I can understand every word they say just fine.

Loved the show. He seemed the smartest one on the show. When he had to “distibute” some moonshine he filled up the RV water tank and then filled everyone’s container from the faucet. Pretty slick.

I seen where he was drunk and fell off the roof and broke his ribs. He was later at home drowning his pain with liquor.

He held up the jar and said “the cause and the remedy are one in the same”.

The key, I think, is where Tickle was sitting. He was sitting in a car. Heck, if I saw a person sitting in a car drinking, I'd call the cops.

On the other hand, if he was sitting on a park bench drinking, I'd just nod and wish him a good day as I walked by.

The article said they carried him in the jail “after he could not find a ride home”. That sounds to me like they tried to let him go home.

Not a bad shot, but he definitely looks hammered.

In some parts of the South, IIRC, “carry” is used to indicate giving someone a ride, e.g., “Can you carry me to church next Sunday?”

Yes. I encountered that usage when I lived in Georgia for a short time. It's not commonly used in my native upper east Tennessee.
