Just went and checked ProMag's site, and they have their new synthetic Mosin-Nagant stocks available for pre-order. Adjustable everything, and (drum roll please)- 10 round removable magazines! Been waiting for this one for awhile!

Similar to my build. (I've since added the same bipod as you have versus the barrel mounted one).

My next steps are probably a bolt job but after seeing the Archangel kit I may have to jump on that for a bit. I'm also doing one for my wife with a custom wooden stock similar to this.

I think you just sold me completely ;)

Sweet looking build! For the scope, is that rail one of those single contact point jobs? If so, how do you like it? I tried one, but recoil kept me busy re-adjusting it, lol.

This one has a single pin but also a block that fits in where the old rear sight went in so it sandwiches in the mount very securely. I can't move it if I tried. (UTG)

I got it from Combat Hunting

Close up image during the build so you can see the way it is sandwiched in there.

The ATI one uses a single pin too but doesn't have that center block to sandwich in the bracket and I've heard it is looser.

Can your shoulder even survive 10 rounds from a Mosin?

Come to an appleseed. I run a Mosin Shoot at my club. 200, 300 and 600 yds. Prone, slowfire with nothing but the sling for support. Stock rifle, surplus ammo and the blue pistol targets. Appleseed grads always win. http://www.appleseedusa.org

I would like a stock / conversion like that for an ‘03 Springfield. The biggest problem with the MN is the odd cartridge size. Not readily available in the U. S.

Not sure where you are, but I still see it often. Someone just posted on the Texas Forum a shop with spam cans of 440 rounds still going for $80. You can pick up cleaner firing new stuff at Academy and Cabelas for under a buck a round too.

Remove the standard issue box mag, and that’s easy to do.

The stock and removeable magazines work together- they will not work with a regular Mosin stock.

You know, if that pic was taken in NY, I could be $500 richer right now.....;)

I like hobbyist time things to tinker with but never tinkered with rebuilding guns. I have read a (very) little on them but opinions are all over the map and I haZ a confused.

Your collection of boomsticks does seem quite varied indeed!

Pointy too ;)
