BALTIMORE, - An attorney for the 7-year-old Maryland boy suspended for biting his breakfast pastry into a gun shape said he is seeking to have the boy's record expunged.
Robin Ficker, the attorney hired by J.B. Welch, father of Park Elementary School student Josh Welch, said he filed an appeal Thursday with Anne Arundel County schools Superintendent Kevin Maxwell to have the two-day suspension from March 1 expunged from the 7-year-old's record, The Baltimore Sun reported Tuesday.
Ficker said keeping the suspension on the boy's record could hurt him later in school.
"Who knows what doubt he's not going to be given the benefit of later?" Ficker asked.
Bob Mosier, a spokesman for Anne Arundel County Public Schools, said the appeal is being reviewed.
"Park Elementary has taken the worst possible interpretation of Joshua's actions," Ficker wrote in the appeal. "The chewed cereal bar looked no more like a gun than the puzzle pieces of the states of Idaho, Oklahoma, or Florida. ... There is no evidence that any other student was frightened by the pastry."
It’s times like this that I wish I had gone into law.
I’d pursue that principal and superintendent and make sure that they would be pennyless in the near future.
And then I would rejoice when they decide to end it all and commit Obama-kari.
We really, really do need a “two minutes of hate” each day for liberals.
Hate, hate, hate.......
your voice is important ... thank you for sharing.
In the spirit of compromise...
Expunge the boy’s record but make him register as a gun manufacturer.
Sue the bastards.
Once in a great while, nothing gets the job done better than an assault lawyer.
Bloomberg is going after them next.
Looks more like that stealth bomber the B2 - now that should have driven that teacher insane. Imagine, a plane with bombs!!!
Unfortunately, if the school employees lose, the school district’s tax payers will cover the cost.
He sure looks a little like Jessie James, and could be very dangerous, i do not ordinarily believe in lynch mobs but there is a limit to what should be allowed.
Lynch him, lynch him.
Seriously, how could any one admit that they had a part in making our country so over all stupid as to take something like a toy of any kind serious, much less a pastry.
I was not exposed to such nonsense when i was a kid but as time went by i learned that all was not well in this nation,
It appears that this child is learning it at a much younger age.
I believe even a socialist who read the thread would hang their head in shame knowing they had something to do with this ( if they were honest ).
Honestly, i am not familiar with hate, as God teaches love and not hate but when you socialists out there expose a child who believes he was born in a free nation to this kind of treatment it brings out the hate in me.
We do not have enough holidays, lets have a socialist holiday, called socialist suicide day, i promise i will take the day off to watch.
I bet if little Mohamed made his pop tart into the shape of a box cutter or suicide belt or talked about how he wanted to be martyred killing Jews and infidels the school would have reacted far differently.
When I was in junior high school, I rode the last run of the day for that bus service. They’d stop on the way and fuel up at the corner gas station and we kids could get off the bus if we wanted. Once in a while I’d go in to the gas station and buy a 50-round box of .22 ammo if I could scratch up the money.
This was in Massachusetts. A long time ago... Oh, my, how things have changed.
Yep, that will be next.
The country is lost. Not worth saving any more.
I’ve had nearly 24 years to endure the loss, it slightly fades but always colors your world, my solace is in Heaven when I will see him again along with other Loved Ones called Home already.
“the teacher should be suspended for creating a panic situation in a school”
I think the teacher should be ARRESTED AND CHARGED for creating a TERRORISTIC situation in a school.
