It's been raining hard West of St. Augustine, just had a barrage of hail the size of golf balls.

Hope it didn’t ruin things. A few years ago a relative in So OR had his roof ruined and a lot of damage to a travel trailer and his pickup from golf ball sized hail.

Yep, my little town in Seminole County is getting pounded but just rain. So far. Hunker down! Let’s fill up those wading ponds for the birds!

Michelle Clark of Brookshire, TX just outside Houston describes the hailstorm that hit her apartment:

We had one helluva hail storm early this am in Dallas that woke us up. Sounded (and looked) like the end of the world. I have never seen a hail storm like it. And this, three days after the ‘first day of spring’. Swell. Now all of the leaves that had emerged due to the mild weather we’d been having are shredded and the plants are beaten down to the ground. Patches of hail are still all over the yard, whereas snow would have already been melted off by now.

All naturally occurring golfballs are the property of the Emperor. You folks will hear from his attorneys.

You obviously got more than your fair share of rain. Expect your green taxes to be adjusted accordingly. ;-)

Happened here one June...the hail was so bad it stripped the newly formed leaves on the tress. It was the most depressing summer ever, although some trees did regrow their leaves. What was bad, real bad was the bird population, it was desimated.

We raked 12” of wet green leaves off the lawn for days, that was a project...found golfball+ size hail buried in the lawn 3-4” deep, days later, still frozen solid, insulated by the heavy leaf cover.

I’ll say a prayer for minimal damage to property and critters for you guys. ;)

Ouch! Went through a 45 minute barrage of golf-ball hail before a tornado ripped through Altus AFB in the early ‘80s. It turned parking lots into junk yards with no glass left and metal looking like cubed steak. It also tends to soften up the ability of shingle roofs to stop water from coming through. My wife told me that the northern areas of MS had some tennis ball size hail fall last week - things could be worse...
