The TV show doesn’t always follow the comics. I think they do that to make the show a bit less predictable.

His southern accent is just too good.

On a previous Talking Dead, they mentioned that Morrisey studied Bill Clinton to learn how to sound like a charming southern man while being pure evil (they didn't use the term "pure evil" but it was implied).

Oh, I'm sure that all that runs through Rick's head, along with the mere fact that food is a scarce resource for their group. Their suspicions of strangers have been mostly well-founded since things went to hell.

I figured the guy was just some reasonably experienced (and gear-owning) guy who had split for the woods and had hid out in some remote spot until his supplies ran out, and who hadn't seen a living person in months. But I must a glass half full kinda guy.

And as for lone survivors, don't forget that guy in the cabin a while back that Tyreese and his group came on when we first met them.

I haven't read the comics, but Robert Kirkman said recently on Talking Dead that they and the show are two different animals.

"That and he was really LOUD, drawing the attention of tons of zombies. So even if he wasn’t a bad guy, he was stupid, and that’s worse."

Yes, he was a moron. The group would have had to deal with teaching him how to act while preparing for a life or death battle.

I’ve read some of the comics, and there are some similarities, but a lot of differences. For example, Andrea seems to have taken Michonne’s place in the Governor’s little torture chamber. Also, Daryle and Merle were not in the comics at all.

I didn’t start watching this show until this season. I am somewhat troubled by the callous indifference shown to the plight of the Walkers by the characters. After all, they were human once and became Zombies through no fault of their own.

There's a great scene in season one where they have to chop up a body to use its innards to ward off the other zombie, but Rick can't bring himself to do it until he's pulled the guys wallet to see who he is and tell the others to remember him and that he had a picture of a pretty girl in the wallet. I thought it was rather touching.

But yeah, they still went through with it.

I think they might have to shake up the zombie thing if they want to keep the series going. I wonder if they might do something like George Romero did with making some of the zombies possess a little memory and emotion in Dawn of the Dead. Not likely, but it would spice it up. Of course, if there was any evidence of such a thing, it should have been witnessed by now.

It's all very vague. When Merle looked up at Daryl, there seemed to be some recognition (I thought), but maybe it was just that Merle was contemplating more food. If I remember right, the Governor's daughter also seemed pacified when her father spoke to her. But who knows how a zombie behaves. It's an interesting thought and would make the show even more gut wrenching (no pun intended) if survivors knew this and had to put their loved ones down.

I am convinced a spark remains even if the "science" does not prove it out. After all, can science tell us where the soul resides?

Human beings (in my faith) simply reside in the flesh; the flesh allows them to communicate, get around in, this world. Remove the method of communication and thought process (in this case the brain) and how do they communicate? The human left in zombies are acting on pure instinct - it is all they have left. Usually gravitating towards the last person/event they knew before death – the last Strong Emotion.

I really hope Carol doesn't die. I'd like to see Daryl find some happiness and I like her character on the show. I read somewhere that Rick's character takes a hard hit in the season finale - I think baby Judith is a goner. It would give the audience a pretty good shock, but perserve Carl. Rick never really bonded with the baby.

Baby Judith may be a goner, but I have a theory about that as well - I think she starts turning: Maybe those abortion pills worked?

In some views, this theory would not make sense because Judith wasn’t born all “zombie like”, but think back to Shane. Remember when Shane and Otis went to get medications for Carl? Shane shaved his head in the bathroom after all was said and done - we see that a piece of his hair had been pulled out by the roots.

The injury was so minor, that the change takes place very slowly. Culminating Immediately after Rick shoots him. Shane’s mind had been deteriorating ever since that night - and not just because Shane was a “bad guy” or because of some “love triangle”.
