Franklin County, Mississippi (CNN) -- Statistically speaking, Franklin County should be straighter than John Wayne eating Chick-fil-A. The middle-of-nowhere rectangle in southwest Mississippi -- known for its pine forests, hog hunting and an infamous hate crime -- is home to exactly zero same-sex couples, according to an analysis of census data.
In other words: It's a place where gays don't exist.
At least not on paper.

According to most credible statistics on the homosexual population, there should be somewhere around one hundred, but, like others have pointed out, most homosexuals from there have moved out for more friendly locales, i.e. places where they can have access to the large number of sexual partners they desire. The males especially would soon get bored of having sex with the same 50-60 other homosexual males in the county all of the time.

If that county is so horrible for homosexuals, then why do some of them have jobs?
The first time I ever had Pepperidge Farm Goldfish was in the office of my parents’ accountant. She was a . . . lesbian. The horror!
Stereotypes aren’t great things. Most of the ones there just want to be left alone. And, generally, they are. I know of at least one family member there that’s gay. HE stays because of family obligations. But, kicks up his heels elsewhere. I’m not really sure people from the east coast or suburbia understand just how ‘dead’ this place is.
The reason the ones that leave DO leave is simple. There probably aren’t as many BDSM dungeons in Franklin county as in New Orleans. Or gay bathhouses. And the Folsom street festival would just amount to a lot of arrests for indecent behavior. It’s the same reason there aren’t a whole of of gays that move to rural AK. Their lifestyle isn’t as easily practiced. Not as many practitioners.
The nut case leader of Iran says there are zero homos in his entire country.
