Do NOT drive the Million Dollar Highway 550 between Ouray and Durango.
Do NOT drive Independence Pass Hwy 82 between Aspen and Ballton.
If you are terrified of heights looking from sheer cliffs, you probably won’t enjoy one lane twisties - but its a shame if acrophobia keeps you from enjoying what scenic roads truly have to offer.
Too late. Did both. And I do have acrophobia. Spectacular views... my father drove so slowly on the Million Dollar, I hung out the window taking photos (my mother was having a panic attack in the back seat). At Independence Pass, got to romp in the snow... during the first week of August.

We did it in May....during a snow storm on icy roads. I have never been so terrified in my life! No guardrails and I thought it was the end. Dead relatives were waiting for me I’m pretty sure.
