Supernatural Surveillance

April 4, 2013

Not far from my house, authorities have rigged a camera to snap pictures of drivers who race through red lights. The offenders later receive in the mail a ticket along with a “red-light photo,” which is visual proof of their traffic violation.

Sometimes I think of God in the same way I think of that camera—He’s up there, just waiting to catch me doing the wrong thing. While God does see our sin (Heb. 4:13), He sees and takes interest in our good deeds as well. Due to His supernatural surveillance, God sees the size of our sacrifice when we give money to the church or to those in need (Mark 12:41-44). He hears our private prayers (Matt. 6:6). And when we fast, we can carry on as usual being assured that our “Father . . . sees in secret” (v.18).

Knowing that God sees everything frees us from thinking about the watchful eyes of others. When we do what is right, we need no applause from onlookers; when we sin, we do not need to worry about our reputation once we settle the issue with God and anyone we’ve harmed. We can rest knowing that “the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him” (2 Chron. 16:9).

Lord, thank You for Your all-seeing nature. You know
everything I think and do. Help me to value Your
approval and live according to Your standards,
no matter what anyone else may think.
Others see what we do, but God sees why we do it.

Your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. —Matthew 6:18

I know about Cottonwood snow! It sticks to screens, too.
Hope your day goes well.

I learned from a perfectionist old maid homeeconomics teacher...but it was not something I had a talent for..My daughter used to enjoy sewing when she was younger...has plans for turning an extra bedroom into a sewing room and starting again.

Hi You All! I had a doctor’s appointment today and its so cold here, plus has rained about all day. My sweet next door neighbors took me because of the weather, etc. I cannot tell you how wonderful these neighbors are! I’m a lucky lady for sure! We stopped coming back at Taco Bell and I bought Judy and I a Mexican pizza each. Her hubby doesn’t like Mexican food or he would have gotten one, too. He said he was going to warm up some pizza for his lunch. I guess we made a rainy, dreary day a little brighter.

Just got my power back after a surprise hurricane-like supercell that spawned a couple of tornadoes.

My balcony is flooded, and the whole community is under at least an inch of water.

More expected tonight. I am glad i am on the second floor, and know how to open a can.

Hi to All at Amy’s Place.
I barely have time to check in these days.
I really enjoyed the horse pictures that were posted recently. The one with the black horse and little girl reminded me of Jack.

I have decided to make this my last year in the greenhouse business, as it doesn’t pay (Obummer has made heating oil double taking my profits since GWB left office). The work is also way too grueling and physical and the 10-12 hour days for the last 2 months cannot ever be repeated. I am done. I am glad for it. God has a plan for me and I am following it. The Stephen Ministry through my church will be my first goal. Then I will work for a Christian organization of some kind. Visiting Angels was my first idea, but now I’m considering InterVarsity at the university I gratuated from, or perhaps another Christian outreach organization at that campus.

I am praying for the strength to go through 2 more months of hard labor.

Good news is my first truck load of pansies went out today. Tomorrow, another is scheduled.

Every plant that leaves here his helpful.

I am still planting too. I have only a few hundred more to do, then I concentrate on caring for everything better than I can now when I am still planting.

Love the horsie pics, thanks to all who posted them.

Cheers

Lovely post Meg. I have been gone over two weeks and am going to write one post to all. I quit posting for awhile after a nasty bout with a foul mouthed woman Freeper. What bothered me even more was that she does it to others and gets by with it and some 'powers that be' walked on by, ignoring it.

So - I took a break - and when I got online again I got a 'blue screen' 3 times in a row and called my guru to take my computer and reinstall Win7. He had it 4 days and it's still not perfect. Think I may need a "new guru", lol.

Then came Easter, and I missed all of your Easter greetings and hope everyone had a nice Easter. I had company and just had company again, so am hoping for some relaxation, lol.

I pray all of you with aches, pains and illnesses are doing well and Jaycee, I'm so glad to see you back posting away and sorry I missed your birthday!

Dolly, I enjoyed your letter a few weeks [yikes!] ago and hope you are feeling better now. My mom made me eat liver for anemia and I hated it! Being the movie buff that you are, I'm sure you saw that Roger Ebert died.

I know I missed a lot and hope you'll forgive me. Sending everyone big ((HUGS)).

I’m glad to see you back! Sorry that one person ruined your FR experience for you...and I hope she’s gone now! We don’t need nasty here...we can get that out in the “other” world!

Thank you Luv! No, she seems to have good friends here! She even wrote me "I'm not nice". I'm ok, just don't know people who talk like that.

Hope all's well with you. Chilly here again, but we had a couple of rain 'drizzles'. The Live Oak Tree 'fuzz' is falling and my Yorkie is a dust mop.......what a mess, lol.

Ugh on the cold, but I think the 90 degrees we’re supposed to have on Saturday is nearly as bad. It shouldn’t be that warm this early! LOL! Oh..yeah...it’s West Texas! Never mind!

We have Mulberry fuzzies...I feel your pain. My hubby’s car looks like it has fuzzy worms all over it. LOL!

I think there is a rule here about profanity...I do wish people would abide by it. :)

I haven’t looked ahead on the weather but I’m in the south central area and just 25mi from the coast.

There must be male and female Mulberry trees because I have a large one but never saw fuzz. When the kids were little they would go bearfoot and get their feet stained from the berries- and their clothes too!
A good hard rain helps get rid of the Oak fuzz.

Luv, they use acronyms, but they are so blatantly obvious and ‘in your face’! There did used to be a rule, in fact I have a thread linked in my profile links about it. We had a good mod years ago, who wrote about profanity and that acronyms counted - so don’t try it.

You may not see all the political threads that I do but it runs rampant here now!!

I’ve got to get up early so need to get to bed. Really enjoyed talking to you!
