Cindy Brady on Her ‘Gay Dad’

By Luchina Fisher

Apr 1, 2013

As the latest star to speak out in favor of same-sex marriage, Susan Olsen, who played Cindy Brady on the iconic 1970s sitcom “The Brady Bunch,” said that if her on-screen dad Robert Reed had been “allowed to form a relationship with another man, he would have been the best husband ever.”

In a heartfelt open letter posted on her Facebook fan page last week during the Supreme Court’s hearing on gay marriage, Olsen wrote, “As a child, I was BLESSED to have another father figure in my life. So I really can honestly say, ‘My Dad was Gay.’

“I can also say that being gay killed him,” she added.

Reed died in 1992 at age 59 from colon cancer, with HIV listed as a significant contributing factor to his death. Following his death, cast members, including Florence Henderson, who played his wife on the show, and Barry Williams, who played Greg Brady, acknowledged that he was a closeted homosexual.

Olsen wrote in last Wednesday’s post that because his homosexuality was “so taboo, he could never make peace with himself.”

“He never allowed himself to have a genuine love. He was forever taunted by his own disdain for the natural inclinations that he was BORN WITH,” she wrote.

I remember he played in some movie or show where he was a transvestite and he was a little too convincing. That was before he “came out”. Never liked Brady Bunch anyway.

Robert Reed was NEVER going to be “The Husband” in any relationship. He was a catcher, not a pitcher.

Susan Olsen’s comments—as an adult—sound exactly as if they were spoken by her “child” character Cindy Brady... did this gal ever grow up?

Religious faggotry is insane.

Monogamy is religious...

Reynolds v. United States in 1878 already defined marriage as one woman and one man.

If the Supreme Court says that Obamacare is constitutional because of the taxing power of Congress, then DOMA is constitutional tax policy.

Who cares what the pig Luther said. People who called for the murder of Jews and the burning of synagogues carry less than zero moral worth.

I’m almost to the point of saying that the damned queers have their damned marriage just so we can stop hearing about it every two seconds. But then common sense takes over and lets me know that OF COURSE we’d never stop hearing about it - they’d just be on to the next thing and the next and the next ...

That's precisely what they're counting on....they figure that since most people won't agree with them, at least if they keep whining, that people will give in, just so they shut the Hell up.

But of course, even after getting the right to marry, they won't shut up.

Odd that you couldn’t dispute the facts and instead diverted away from the truth.

Luther was a man, not a god, and he was an evil man. His beliefs and teachings laid the groundwork for the Holocaust.

Tell me that his writings did not call for the destruction of Jews and I will have no choice but to believe you have never read Luther or that you are aware and choose to ignore his writings.

An indictment of a man is not an indictment of a religion.

OK, how soon does Olsen wrote in last Wednesday’s post that because his homosexuality was “so taboo, he could never make peace with himself.”

Here is a quote from the great Martin Luther:

First, that their synagogues be burned down, and that all who are able toss in sulphur and pitch; it would be good if someone could also throw in some hellfire. That would demonstrate to God our serious resolve and be evidence to all the world that it was in ignorance that we tolerated such houses, in which the Jews have reviled God, our dear Creator and Father, and his Son most shamefully up till now but that we have now given them their due reward.

Why would anyone give a rodent’s sphincter about government sanction of one’s relationship?

Where is Murphy Brown these days?

Who cares what the pig Luther said. People who called for the murder of Jews and the burning of synagogues carry less than zero moral worth.

It is said that during the approximately 600 years of the Roman Catholic Inquisition, tens of millions of Christians were tortured and murdered. This was done primarily to suppress any and all opposition to its heresies.

"Side benefits" included taking the material wealth of its victims and showing the pope's power terrorizing people and keeping them in line believing Romish superstitions and heresies. Roman Catholic agents have tortured, crippled, burned, murdered, mutilated, and imprisioned millions of Christians. Rome's inquisitors hunted down Christians and had whole towns and cities wiped out, murdered.

Actual number is closer to 2000.

Nice try.
