Lazy Legislators Don't Get It...Register Violent Video Addicts Not Guns!!
Self | April 2, 2013 | Stayfree

This is not an April Fools Joke! This is serious!

Pass laws requiring that purchasers of violent video games be at least 18 years old, be required to pass a background check and have each violent video game registered with authorities. And anyone who purchases more than 3 violent video games in a 30 day period be subject to a personal interview by authorities.

Our lazy legislators as usual are barking up the wrong tree about gun control (noting that gun sales are way up in Newtown, CT).

As evidenced by investigative findings into Adam Lanza's lifestyle, we know that he was an avid gamer with violent video games and also had many objects associated with violence.

I suggest that legislators would be on the right track if they would pass laws requiring that purchasers of violent video games be at least 18 years old, be required to pass a background check and have each violent video game registered with authorities. And anyone who purchases more than 3 violent video games in a 30 day period be subject to a personal interview by authorities. Of course, legislators might want to consider a tax on video games to compensate communities for their losses due to violent behavior by perpetrators who were addicted to violent video games.

(I am sending this suggestion to others who understand that more gun control laws do not stop violent behavior!!)

Assuming you are serious...You don't get it either. Lazy legislators should register no one.

No legal private property or activity should be registered to the state.

No thanks. No registering guns or video games. This idea, assuming you were serious, is awful.

I neglected to mention that all manufacturers of violent video games be required to put gamestick locks in their software which can only be unlocked by certified adult and that a history record be kept in the video game software of how many times the game has been played and how many times each violent act has been viewed.

By the way...there is no second amendment right to keep and watch violent video games! But there is one to keep and bear arms........

Of course! My suggestion is just as silly as passing more gun laws like restricting the magazine capacity to 7 rounds...

Don’t leave out mandatory psychological testing at 3 month intervals too.

Hey legislators...why don’t you get a real job and stop begging for attention any way you can get it? Stop wasting our time with “feel good” bs that will never work you silver spoon wastes of space! Tell you what...go into a lions cage with a psychiatrist and try to reason with them and talk them out of biting you. It’s just about the same type of logic you guys use to write legislation

Indeed, any of these such knee jerk responses are silly, without merit, and against the constitution.

A free society means that people are free to do as they please so long as it does not harm others.

As soon as the actions of a free person do harm others, then that person becomes a criminal and is dealt with as such for making such criminal choices.

But to remove the freedom of choice is to remove the free society.

Adam Lanza is the person responsible for his crimes.

No one else.

If someone chooses to become a criminal, then the best response for the intended victim is to shoot that criminal dead with the tool and means of freedom;

The gun.

All good sarcasm except for one point -

guess what our military has spend BILLIONS of dollars on to condition our troops so that they fire their weapons the first time they are in combat?

Of course the military has troops spend a few hours playing with these things, and then MANY hours explaining to them when it is acceptable to do the things they have just been taught to do.

As I am sure happens with every teenager that spends hours in their basement playing the exact same type of games. (that was sarcasm).

Feinstein is one truly evil looking “thing”. I don’t think “woman” would be the correct term. The right side (from her view) looks as though she’s possessed by a demon...lol; a truly evil look...

You're buying into the idea that gun control is about controlling violent crime, and it isn't, it's about banning all civilian possession of guns in incremental steps.

Facts don't matter, they don't care, their constituents are hard core marxists and useful idiots.

“They have the guns and therefore we are for peace and for reformation through the ballot. When we have the guns then it will be through the bullet.”

Vladimir Ilyich Lenin

Then, they’ll pass laws against video games and gun control. No thanks. Overly sensitive control freaks are problematic socialists and shouldn’t even be seen or heard in public.

Lanza was essentially fatherless, BTW. Millions of people, including young folks, have played many hours of violent video games without becoming deranged. Such derangement obviously springs from the political class that’s trying to outlaw the Second Amendment right of others (see Lanza’s mother’s $240,000 per year support/alimony income that was expected to increase to nearly $300,000).
