A sign posted outside a Collin County nail salon promoting it as "American Owned, American Staffed" is generating controversy.
The merchant defends her sign by saying it's a "patriotic business decision." But others believe it's focused more on what her Fairview business isn’t: Asian owned and operated.
Ed Thayer said he was offended when he saw the sign in the window of the St. Tropez Nail Spa. He's a regular customer at a Vietnamese restaurant next door. He and his wife adopted four girls who are Vietnamese-Americans.
Thayer said he was so upset, he went into the salon to confront the owner.
"I said, 'This sign here implies that the other salons around here that are owned by Asian-Americans are less American than you,'" Thayer recalled.

I don’t recall there being among our Constitutional rights the right to not be offended! These people have an actual appropriate way to respond to this business owner and that is to not patronize her establishment, otherwise they need to just shut up! I’m fed up with Americans and others that insist we not be proud of or promote our own country because that might offend someone! My response to them is STFU!
I don’t see a problem here. The commie ‘RATS keep telling us that foreign nationals living in this country are “americans”. They refer to them as “americans” all of the time as in, “The majority of ‘americans’ are demanding “immigration reform”. Which “Americans” are they talking about? Americans don’t shive a git about “immigration reform”. They are already citizens of the U.S. The “americans” the ‘RATS are always talking about must be foreign nationals who are living in this country illegally (illegal aliens).
