Since much film music has it’s roots in classical music, you might be interested.

Film music might just be the best music being composed today.

In the second clip, see those chairs? They're made by Wenger. I have one in the other room.

Nice to see someone still using a full orchestra, instead of just doing it on computer.

I thought that he had won the Oscar for Up, and I was right. I am not a big fan of animation (my hubby and youngest are big fans -- Hubby especially liking Pixar); but, I found Up to be actually moving, the way I haven't been emotionally involved in a film for a long time.

Thanks for the ping. I love movie music.

My favorite is Maurice Jarre, composer of “Lawrence of Arabia” and Dr. Zhivago.

In both of those he used a full symphony orchestra, supplemented with various ethnic instruments appropriate for the movie.

He didn’t give much outside of the reprises of Alexander Courage’s original Star Trek theme.

I love Michael Giacchino. he did beautiful and memorable work for LOST.
Will he be collaborating at all with John Williams?

We really enjoyed UP, but few friends or family members did. Strange.
