Dallas Roberts Talks ‘Walking Dead’ Alternate Version.. [spoiler alert]

"The Walking Dead fans who haven’t seen the season finale might want to turn away now. Dallas Roberts, who was introduced as Milton this season on the show opened up about some alternate versions to the scenes that aired on Sunday night’s finales.

Roberts sat down for an interview with Entertainment Weekly and talked about how some of the scenes in which he appeared were changed quite a bit after they were first shot. Roberts’ character, Milton died in the season finale and after turning into a zombie killed Andrea with a vicious bite. One of the things that Roberts points to as a change on the show from what was originally shot was the way that Milton and Andrea went out. Dallas Roberts says that The Walking Dead‘s finale was originally supposed to end for him by getting shot in the stomach, after taking the torture tools out.

The actor said he was always supposed to be mortally wounded and then left to change but that there was more to him trying to free Andrea in the original version. He also said that “there was a section where he was going to wrap the chain around the neck and try to choke her to death before he turned so she wouldn’t have to deal with Walker Milton.”

The actor talked about the fact that some people wanted to see Milton survive. He said that he thought his character could have turned into some kind of power broker in Woodbury but that the show clearly wanted the Governor to survive.

It seems obvious that the show couldn’t have both characters surviving in order to go in the direction AMC apparently wants to go with the Governor character."

At least Andrea got whacked. I couldn’t stand her Berkeley-Santa Cruz attitude of “I didn’t want anyone to die.” And then when she went into her monologue while Milton tells her to kill him; it was agony.

I heaved a sigh of satisfied relief at the demise of who Ed Peltier referred to as "the college educated coos".

Good riddance, Andrea.

Thanks for keeping me on your ping list.

BTW I’m hooked on History Channel’s “Vikings” now.

Some of those Vikings make the Governor look like a kitten....almost. LOL

“BTW, I read that one of the WD producers said next season will show that the group has become far too complacent about walkers. Sounds interesting....”

Yeah, they have to appeal to the “show is about killing zombies” crowd who think it’s a first-person shooter game. What the group needs to do is fix the fence, clear the inner area of walkers and start planting food.

I agree. Andrea, to her credit, did try to take herself
out long ago and the even MORE annoying Dale, butted in.

She did have a scene where I was rooting for her when she
laid Dale out for doing that.

Lord, yes, that fence is top priority.

I’m not a big fan of zombie stuff myself; I just love the show for the good character-driven drama.

The kid that Carl shot, is his mother at the prison now?

I don't think so, he was just a young man from the town.

You may be thinking about a younger kid who was shot by Merle just as Merle was pulling the trigger to shoot the Gov......In fact, after Merle turned, he was seen feasting on that young kid when Daryl showed up.....

In one episode there was a kid that was “slow” or had asthma or something - some reason he couldn’t/shouldn’t fight. The Gov. was telling everyone that they need to get involved and start training. The slow kid’s mother put up a tiff about it, but the Gov. said “everyone who’s able needs to train... he’ll be OK.” She gave in. I didn’t know if she was the woman that was spared when the Gov went on a rampage after the prison attack.
Would be interesting if she’s at the prison now with Carl. I’ll have to back track and see what I can find.

That was the kid Merle shot. The kid was the son of the couple who were kicked out of the prison along with Tyreese and his wife who will now be returning to the prison.

And it was the kid's father who was the first one shot in the head by the Gov. in the final episode when the gov. caught them in the military truck driving away from the prison.

Different episode(s). I’ll do some searching. The kid I’m thinking of has been at Woodbury since before Tyreese and gang came into the picture. The scene I’m thinking of was right after Rick and Co. hit the prison the first time and the Gov. started everyone training.

Found it - The woman that survived the Gov.’s rampage on the road was Karen. Karen’s son is Noah. Noah is the one with asthma that I was thinking of. Jody is the kid that Carl killed, not Noah.
