Fox News Insider ^ | 3:15 pm ET April 11, 2013

Posted on 04/11/2013 5:18:56 PM PDT by Olog-hai

The FDA is considering a plan that would allow the dairy industry to add the sweetener aspartame to milk without having to label it.

The plan is coming under fire from some farmers and some consumer groups. …

I beg to differ

Keep begging, it won't make your silly claim true.

And from which medical school did you graduate?

Medical school? Do you really think an MD is qualified to indict aspartame as a carcinogen and a neurotoxin by simply attending medical school?

Your comments are proof that MD's don't receive enough training in biochemistry. Give what your doctor said to you, I'm pretty certain I've received more training in chemistry and nutritional biology than your doctor. But that's just talk on the internet, let's look at what we know to be true.

Aspartame has three components: phenylalanine (an essential amino acids), aspartic acid (another amino acid), and methanol.

A 12 oz. Diet Coke contains the following:

Phenylalanine - 90 mg
Aspartic Acid - 72 mg
Methanol ------ 18 mg

A 3 oz. piece of grilled chicken, eaten with a cup of tomato juice, contains the following:

Phenylalanine - 1,060 mg
Aspartic Acid - 2,400 mg
Methanol ------ 80 mg

So, a small piece of grilled chicken with just a cup of tomato juice will give you almost 12 times more phenylalanine than what is found in in a can of Diet Coke; 33 times more aspartic acid, and more than 4 times the amount of methanol.

The average banana contains 60 mg. of phenylalanine, 146 mg. of aspartic acid, and 21 mg. of methanol

So, according to your doctors, eating bananas or a small piece of grilled chicken with a glass of tomato juice will cause all kinds of damage to our well-being by bombarding our bodies with known carcinogens and neurotoxins. Who knew that these everyday foods were so damned dangerous?

Or, your doctors could just have no idea what they're talking about. I didn't go to med school. That's where the kids who didn't do well in biochem went. Next time you see your doctor ask him how phenylalanine, aspartic acid and methanol can cause cancer and be toxic to our nervous system when consumed as aspartame, but not when many times more of each component are eaten in bananas or chicken. I'd love to know his answer.

I guess Dr. Russell Blaylock and Dr. Stebhen Mercola are just bio-chemistry drop-outs and you know it all. For anyone else interested here are some links to resources written by doctors and others in the field regarding aspartame. Do with it what you will:

I see you're doing your best to ignore my common sense question. Let me try again..... If these three components are deleterious to our health when bound together as aspartame, why are they not even more dangerous when found in much higher quantities in foods like bananas, chicken, and a cold glass of beer?

The reason you ignore my simple question is that it exposes your doctor, and all the other charlatans, for their lack of education. In the cases of Blaylock and Mercola, it also exposes their agenda. Anyone with a firm grasp of human nutrition can quickly look at what Blaylock and Mercola have to say about most subjects and see that it is a bunch of idiocy designed to scare you into buying something they have to sell. People who are educated in the life sciences know better than to believe this nonsense.

Why do people believe in things they cannot explain or justify? Please get back to me when you can explain how these three components are deadly as aspartame, but not as bananas, or in chicken with any fermented beverage. Standing by......

Just like I take my doctor's advice and the advice of those in the medical profession when it comes to aspartame, so shall I take Mark Twain's advice when it comes to arguing with you and the other guy on the subject . . . . . .

"Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience." Mark Twain

Have a nice day

So, you choose to be ignorant. I'm not surprised. Most people who believe in things they don't understand bristle at simple, common sense questions that challenge the idiocy they have purchased, hook, line and sinker.

Too many people, yourself included, never bothered to learn anything about science, which is why we see so much stupidity when it comes to things like man caused global warming, fear of certain foods, and aversion to life saving discoveries like vaccines.

I don't recall who said it, but he/she knows you better than you do. The highest form of ignorance is when you reject something you know nothing about.

Whatever you do in life, never question what you're told by "experts," and by all means, never question authority. All you need is ignorance and confidence and your success is assured.

Carry on.

I’m sure she “knows” HFCS is worse than table sugar too, she doesn’t need to know any science......

Science is hard....even harder if you're stupid.

HFCS is a killer.....

GMO food will also kill you....even though just about everything we eat has been genetically modified.

Her kids probably never got vaccinated. Those needle sticks are only offered to make Big Pharma rich.

Like Ron White says.....
