The Masters Limited Commercials: What Happened?

The Masters used to limit commercials to something like 4-6 minutes per hour of broadcasting... This year, it has to be close to 20 minutes. What Happened?

I tried that the other night but all three stations had commercials on at the same time. That’s just not right!

Problem is, the tv shows schedule their commercials at the same time so you can’t watch two shows. The other day I was watching a 110 minute movie that ran three hours. That’s over 33% commercial time. As much as cable costs, there’s no reason these people are so broke they have to have so many commercials.

Dontcha know the golf channel would jump at the chance to have all day wire to wire coverage. CBS is probably only staying on to keep them from doing just that.

umm, I think it’s quite easily 100% unless we have a PGA lurker, and even he would probably get beat. The 14 year old made the cut, meaning that he beat many of the world’s best golfers (of course only because I was busy this week).

Well I’m spoiled by DirecTV’s system that buffers two channels and lets you toggle between them. So I just give the programs a half hour head start and after that you can get the commercials out of sync.

Well I’m spoiled by DirecTV’s..

I have Direct TV too but I was trying to watch two different programs that are on the alphabet stations. My grandson told one of his friends that the only reason I have Direct TV is because they are the only ones that show NCIS, Burn Notice or Flashpoing 24/7. I proved him wrong yesterday though and watched 3 hours of Dirty Jobs with him.

The people running the Masters realized that watching the Masters is about as exciting as watching paint dry so they found commercials that are more boring than watching people play cow-pasture pool to make the Masters seem more exciting.

Heretic! I have a friend who calls watching golf, "watching sky" because of all the sky shots following a ball. I'm a golf fan, but even I can only stomach so much on the tube.
