Skip to comments.Vanity: News Sources on North Korean News?
Posted on 04/13/2013 8:42:57 PM PDT by ConservativeMan55
I'm trying to learn more and keep up with the movements, etc in North Korea.
Where on the internet are there some good, reliable websites that Freepers go to for news about the rogue state?
For instance there was a Freeper a few days ago who had posted about how you can go online and watch North Korea's "objects" in orbit.
Anyhow just curious! Would be great to pool some news resources!
That looks like a good one!!
I’ve heard of places like Debka before but I don’t know how “reliable” Debka is.
I have added keyword Nkorea to your thread.
Push that keyword and search all articles that come up.
You will find many sources.
Sources on the sidebar
Debka is correct about 12% of the time.
Twitter news feeds are also an option.
Stars & Stripes
It’s lefty. But the North Korea and South Korea coverage is pretty good.
Thanks for that!
Yeah I’m just real interested in this. I have a feeling they are going to do something stupid.
I like the above three sites. I don’t vouch for their bona fides, but they seem to have worthwhile information. The last one has gone on haitus, but it has links to other sites of interest.
Thanks very much!!
I know there are tons of sites out there! But I know you guys have found some of the best.
I’ve added Yonhap English to the tweets I receive. That, Breaking News, Sky News and BBC covers the region pretty well. Japanese news has too many alerts to keep up with for me.
I would imagine the Japanese cover the region really well. Especially being in the middle of it all...
You’re welcome ! :)
Wow that 38north.org has some interesting stuff on it!
That one site said Kim hasn’t been seen in 2 weeks. If they decided to use a nuclear bomb I could definitely see him skipping out of North Korea before hand.. knowing the response would wipe his country out.
Yes, they do deep analysis and report. Not the place to find the latest breaking news. Some of their analysis could be arcane to general public.
More of an in depth look rather than a headline type site.
And if you’re up for a laugh, the North Korean news sites are:
we,, it’s not funny, but the propaganda is outrageous...
http://www.kcna.co.jp/index-e.htm. (really hard to get on the last couple of days)
So that’s kinda like their version of MSNBC?
Yea, and I was just reading that the AP just hired a journalist from DPRK, the N Korean propaganda news site.
“Yea, and I was just reading that the AP just hired a journalist from DPRK, the N Korean propaganda news site.”
In other words, AP just hired a North Korean intelligence agent posing as a journalist to report back to the North Korean regime about sources the regime should take action against.
Yep, and apparently the AP has had a journalist stationed inside NK and says the north let’s her write freely...ha!
So...don’t count on the AP for unbiased NK news.
So, that is why the NK site is constantly talking about reunification?
South Korea also has a Unification Minister
That they do but you’ll want a Korean source as well.
Kim certainly has the appearance of one most interested in self-preservation.
Listen to this guy CM55. He’s as close to the “front line” in this skirmish as you can get.
Interesting. At the nknews site, the second photo shows a 50’s style Marxist sculpture. Probably concrete and re-bar, painted.
Giant hands are holding up a hammer and sickle, not surprising.
But the hand in the middle appears to be holding up a giant, golden dildo.
To quote Hedley Lamar, “Kinky.”
try godlike productions
if you wade through the conspiracy crap you can pick up Reuters live feed, some interesting real time stuff and some enjoyable banter
I come to Free Republic. We have several FReepers who make excellent posts to keep us informed.
My money is on a 6am (N.K.time) missile launch from North Korea on the 15th. That means 6pm est Sunday our time.
Good observation !
Good twitter thread here https://twitter.com/W7VOA#
