William Boyd announced on Monday that the title of his forthcoming James Bond sequel will be Solo reflecting the 45-year-old spy's decision to go off piste on an unauthorised mission.

Been done.
Anyone remember that awful Tim Dalton Bond movie “License to Kill”? Same thing. Bond wanted revenge for some bad guy injuring his American CIA pal Felix Leiter and is forced to give up his “Double-0” status. He goes off solo to get said revenge (even though ‘Q’ does help him out on the sly).
The Daniel Craig version of Bond seems like the kind of guy who would hoist the middle-finger salute to ‘M’ and go off on his own.

just finished reading all the Vince Flynn books,great reading am now trying Daniel Silva.
Highly recommend the Vince Flynn books,he is a mix of Bond ,Rambo and Dirty Harry.

Was done before that. Apparently this novel closes the Fleming/Amis Bond. Geoffrey Jenkins wrote a Bond novel for Jonathan Cape, which was rejected, called
Per Fine Ounce. Not much of the novel remains except
This.
