BELMAR, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) – A southern New Jersey woman of Korean descent is suing CVS Pharmacy, claiming a worker used an Asian slur to identify her on a receipt for photographs.

Attorney Susan Chana Lask said Hyun Lee used her own name when ordering pictures online, but noticed her name was listed as “Ching Chong Lee” on the receipt when she picked up the photos on Feb. 7 at a CVS in Egg Harbor City.

“Honestly I’m just horrified about this whole thing,” Lee told reporters, including CBS 2′s Steve Langford. “It just brought back all the memories of growing up as a minority.”

Yea but the problem is Miss Lee does not realize it. If she did she would just drop it.

“Well I wouldn’t necessarily blame CVS. Back in the 1990’s I worked at Radioshack and we had some kid do the same thing. He already had another job lined up so he decided to “go out with a bang” and started filling out all the receipts with insults and racial/sexual slurs, (luckily the system DID have a filter so he couldn’t put in obvious slurs like the “N” word, but he did manage to put “Pickin Cotton” on a black man’s receipt and “Big Mama” on a rather large ladies receipt. Sure enough, their were MANY complaints and he was quickly terminated, thankfully with some apologizing and generous store credit, that was the end of it (luckily that was long before Facebook and Twitter).”

You know that thought never occurred to me. An employee taking revenge against a boss. Don’t get me wrong I know it goes on, it is just that until you said this I never put 2 and 2 together.

Places where I worked people did stuff like empty the drawers and turn them upside down then put the stuff back in them. Kinda stuff you see DiNozzo and David doing on NCIS.

So “Ching Chong” is now a racial slur? Um, okay.

Some are “easily amused”...this one appears to be “easily horrified”.

I was wondering about that, as well. Does this mean “cha ching” is off limits now, too?

Hyung, ChingChong, sound pretty much alike to the Western ear!

Is “Ching Chong” really a slur? I’ve never heard of it.

Every word in the English language is a racial slur to some group of people in this age of political correctiveness. Except where the words refer to White Christian males.

I went to school with a girl named Ching Chong. No joke.

Her family owned a terrific restaurant in town.

BTW, why would a CVS employee put the wrong name down on a prescription? Stupid, and it could get someone killed if the wrong person got the Rx.

I don't believe this Korean woman's story.

But if true she's a big pathetic baby.

It wasn’t a prescription. It was an order for photograph processing.

My guess is the clerk didn’t hear the woman’s name (maybe her accent made it difficult to understand) and rather than ask again, she just wrote “Ching Chong” for “Hy-ong”. Insensitive, but maybe not trying to be deliberately harmful.
