OK, you’d know - I’ve never listened to any Bosses.

You are one brave soul as crazy as the market is! I wish I had the intestinal fortitude. :)

"Classic rock radio stations just seem to play the same tired songs over and over again."

I've toyed with the idea of recreating a radio show to reintroduce the renegade FM format of the late 60s and mid 70s when they played anything and everything in long sets and you were not always sure who you were hearing.

Agreed on Merchant’s merchandise. But this is a thread about our hates not loves.

How about Pat Benatar, then?

Electric Light Orchestra reminds me of the modern-day Trans-Siberian Orchestra. Overwrought and overly pretentious. Mannheim Steamroller sort of fits in that mold too but I do like their Christmas music.

I play small. I'm trying penny stocks right now. If any of them take off I could be sitting on quite a little stash (have 3 stocks - 12,000 shares of 1, 100,00 shares of another - 5,000 shares of the 3rd).

I wish I had tried the stock market back in the mid 80's. Could have made a killing. It was almost impossible to lose from the mid 80's until 1999. I had a friend who bought Yahoo and made 500,000. I really just wanted to learn how to play the market (figured it was more fun than a casino), and if lucky make some money and if not then I would only blow a certain limit I had said I would play with.

Thanks! That restaurant, for those who might be somewhat familiar with the Boston area was located on Revere Street in Revere, MA, maybe a half mile from the beach. It was called the "Ritz" but was actually more of a dive bar that practically sat over the old Boston & Maine railroad tracks. I believe it is a chinese restaurant these days.

Another band I did not like from the 1970s was Kiss. I never did get that scene. Four men dressed like clowns from the gates of hell playing mostly awful slabs of derivative "hard rock". Yet most of my friends at the time went nuts over them. I only liked one song from that group, the ballad "Beth" which reminds me of the first girl I had a crush on back in late 1976. Only her name was not Beth, but Teresa. No songs I'm aware of that have Teresa in the title.

I can’t listen to the early Rush stuff, but right around Permanent Waves, Geddy’s voice became more normal.

Mick Jagger complained in a recent interview that the public doesn’t want to hear anything new, and that’s the reason why they won’t go in the studio. Pity.

He is right, though. Nothing makes people head for a beer run or a bathroom break quicker than, "And here is something from our new album."

Thanks for the links! I favor the Joe Dolan version as I’m mostly Irish. However, my high school Teresa was Italian so the Sergio version is probably more appropriate to remember her by.

That’s a great description of Kiss. I actually went to a Kiss concert at college, believe it or not, in Grand Forks, North Dakota. Loudest, craziest event I ever been to. Don’t know why I went to it but at the time (1978)they were a hot
band and it was an excuse to party. Think I lost some brain cells that night. Anyway, their whole marketing effort seemed to revolve around those crazy costumes and Gene Simmons’ super long tongue. It was “erotic” to the girls, you know :)
