To break the monotony of the media rushing to make fools of themselves over the Marathon bombing story I thought I'd bring up a subject that got me thinking earlier today while listening to a classic rock station instead of my usual talk show selection.

I lived through the 70's explosion of hard rock music and although some of it still gets me rocking in my own geriatric way. I thought I'd ask if anyone here had bands that were popular that they never liked, or/and still don't care to hear.

That is the true test, isn`t it? How quickly do you change the station when you hear a band you hate?

I have bloodied my knuckles a few time trying to eradicate Nickleback from the radio.

I've always preferred the classic full album efforts that provided several hits in one package. They seem to endure and still give me something to enjoy (along with memories of good times).

Zeppelin 1 & 2, Eagles - One of these Nights, Elton John - Yellow Brick Road, Allman Bros - Eat a Peach, CSNY - Deja Vu, Little Feat - Waiting for Columbus and of course Dark Side of the Moon were full album efforts that I think will always endure.

I still like a lot of Robin Trower's solo efforts and the early reformed Fleetwood Mac album Rumors.

And to think New Jersey governor Chris Christie was moved to tears when he met Springsteen for the first time after Hurricane Sandy.

As for me ... I was more disturbed that Christie had seen "the Boss" in concert something like 120 times. LOL.

Nirvana, another band I just never got....The thing is, The Foo Fighters are a much better band, IMHO.
